Review of 3 Classic Horrors Of The Silver Screen - Vol. 2 - A Bucket Of Blood / House On Haunted Hill / The Ghoul DVD by alvila

Advantages: A Bucket of Blood and House on Haunted Hill
Disadvantages: The Ghoul

A Bucket of Blood is one of my favourite classics. An enjoyable 'Wax Museum' genre that takes a slightly different approach. This time, the artist is actually very slow witted and has no talent, as you will see. He works at a coffee shop full of poets and art buffs and wants so desperately to join their world. So, one thing leads to another, and, if your familiar with the genre, you know how it goes. House on Haunted Hill is one of the great classics ...
...horror or is it murder-mystery. To answer that question, i would have to spoil it. So, watch and find out for yourself, you won't be dissappointed. Unfortunately, The Ghoul is probably one of Karloff's worst. Karloff is one of my favourites, but he doesn't really act in this one. The story is very slow, and doesn't build up to anything all that shocking. Just some ancient Egyptian Mummy curse, some rich guy trying to be immortal. Nothing I haven't ... Read review

3 Classic Horror Movies from the Past
Review of 3 Classic Horrors Of The Silver Screen - Vol. 3 - Little Shop Of Horrors / The Bat / Bride Of The Monster DVD by ladyvalmont

Advantages: Engaging Story Lines
Disadvantages: Lack of special effects due to production period

...the genre of horror, these 3 classics can bring enjoyment to all those that appreciate horror of high quality. With the use of compelling storylines and gruesome images, the viewer is left always anxious at what would come next - that's how true horror began to develop. Through these elements, those who watch it forget the fanciful special effects that present day cinema offers and is taken in by this collection's creative brilliance. All 3 movies ...
...plot lines and cinematic professionalism. "Little Shop of Horrors" focusses more on the "horrible" part of horror movies, whereas "The Bat" proves as having more of a psychological effect on the viewers. "The Bride of the Monster" is for all those who are interested in the horror genre as a whole - one of the movies that inspired future horror producers. ... Read review

How not to carry out a kidnapping...
Review of The Cottage DVD by sunmeilan

Advantages: Funny, gory
Disadvantages: Some won't like the swearing and the gore

...David and Peter kidnap Tracey, the step-daughter of a powerful villain, they think that their fortunes are made. Unfortunately, nothing quite goes to plan. Tracey's step-brother, Andrew, who is part of the plot, is supposed to deliver the ransom money, but doesn't check the bag and it turns out to be tissue paper. And Tracey is not going to be held without a fight. When David goes out to make a phone call, he returns to find that Tracey has run off, ...
...Peter's brother, he is definitely the more street-wise of the two; in fact, it is him who has bullied Peter into helping with the kidnap. David is a bit of a hard case - he looks like he walked straight out of Eastenders - and struggles to come to terms with other people's stupidity. It is this that brings a lot of humour to the film - his gradual realisation that they are all doomed is funny to watch. He works brilliantly with Reece Shearsmith, ... Read review

A Review of Covenant movie
Review of The Covenant DVD by usman44

Advantages: great special effects
Disadvantages: acting was little bit low

...good movie worth to watch. The great story line and interested. The covenant is a film about a group of boys who have some natural powers, they all have different power as compare to each other and as the approach there18th birthdays the get stronger and more powerful can do more damage However there powers to much has a consequence. The general view of this film seems to be that this is too similar to the craft which was about witches personally ...
...some great special effects and the story is completed in this one film, however some of the acting is a little cheesy but i don't think this film was ever made as a great masterpiece. But worth to watch this movie because this movie take your interest in it. ... Read review

Just don't watch while you're eating
Review of Planet Terror DVD by midpikyrozziy

Advantages: Brilliantly acted and directed, gore-filled fun-fest
Disadvantages: Not everyone's cup of tea

Planet Terror Intro Robert Rodriguez's 'Planet Terror' was originally released alongside Quentin Tarantino's 'Death Proof' to make up the Grindhouse double feature, which was a tribute to the whole Grindhouse genre and their favourite B-movies. The term 'Grindhouse' is an American term referring to a theatre that mainly showed exploitation films, which is a genre of film that relies on the exploitation of something (eg. a big star, special ...
...in an exploitation sub-genre, Planet Terror features elements from the early zombie films and splatter films. It was released in 2007, but was considered a flop, mainly due to a poorly considered release date on Easter weekend and poor advertising, but if you like this sort of film, you will love Planet Terror. Plot In a rural town in Texas, go-go dancer Cherry (Rose McGowan) becomes disillusioned with her work, and attempts to try and use ... Read review
