Dracula Lives

Advantages: excellent animation, good scripts, cracking soundtrack
Disadvantages: English dub could be better, compression rate not optimal

...this world. Here, Hellsing (aka van Helsing) has indeed tracked Dracula back to his castle and lands. There, he indeed kills Dracula's servants and various minions, including Mina. He informs Dracula of this as he plunges a stake through his heart as Dracula gasps in disbelief, "I lost?" Humbled by his own powerful being losing to such a foe, he swears fealty to the Hellsing family, and rather than having his head cut off to finish the killing job, ...
...vampire of all? And so, Hellsing founds the Hellsing Organisation, a civilian outfit which in reality is a Protestant Order of Holy Knights shrouded in the utmost of secrecy and answering pretty much only to royalty. Fiercely devoted to their sworn duty of serving the royal house and all of Britain by destroying vampires, they are an almost anachronistic organisation in the 21st century. Modern weaponry aplenty abounds, but duty, honour, and a fierce ...

Attack Of The Killer Cock

Advantages: So bad its good
Disadvantages: None

...Hypervixens" - the making of Pervert! - A very Russ Meyer approach to a behind the scenes look at the movie, it shows all the stars of the film in a very different light some of them come off as being incredibly intelligent, but as I already stated from its low level standards this is a movie thought out by incredibly intelligent souls. It also focuses on Russ Meyer as its inspiration plus a glimmer of hope on future issues. • Deleted scenes ...
...cut, a couple of them would have been welcome editions; but one could well have distorted the movies message. • Bloopers - Unusually the most serious element of the DVD, because the when the bloopers occur they are actually not that funny, the humour is only in the film itself. • Trailers and a photo gallery. - I'll never understand the purpose of photo galleries and the one big let down with this movie is that it fails to do anything ...

I wouldn't go out and buy it, but it was pretty good!

Advantages: suspenseful and interesting
Disadvantages: it was probably better in Japanese

As horror films go, it wasn't the worst we have seen. Absolutley lacking in blood and guts, it was suspenseful but predictable, although the ending wasn't expected. To be fair, I think that any film is going to lose some of the shine with subtitles. The settings were semi-creepy (you see grimy blocks of flats on the tele all the time), and, thinking about it, it was probably one of the lowest budget films I've seen. That being said, the acting was ...
...days which only have a couple actors. The actress and child actress were the main characters and in every scene, although there were some other supporting actors. I enjoyed it in a sort of people-watching way (is that how they live in japan?) and the story was creepy enough, if a bit lacking in action. However, that is why a person could consider it "good" - even lacking in action, we sat with eyes glued to the screen - normally such a bloodless ...

She always gets a part

Advantages: Beautifully paced, acted, directed, shot
Disadvantages: An acquired taste

...sits in on the film's audition which requires a female heroine in the main role. Not only would Aoyama be able to meet many women and ask them questions but he would also have access to all of their application material for further information. It seems like a highly efficient (if slightly creepy) way for Aoyama to find a new prospective wife; he reluctantly accepts. Soon, the applicants start flying in and it seems that Aoyama is spoilt for choice ...
...connected to her. When the audition day rolls around, he displays little interest in the other applicants some of which are very keen to get the part. But when Asami appears, his feelings are confirmed and soon asks her out to dinner. Asami is overjoyed with the attention he is giving her, delicate and complicated a flower that she is. It seems that Asami wants the same thing as Aoyama; companionship, but is Aoyama getting more than he bargained ...
