The animation itself isn't very strong either and it all has a rushed type feel to it - probably in order to quickly cash in on the success of the movie which was released a few months before this was put into production. Sick yet deep

Advantages: Great visuals, haunting story line and totally original
Disadvantages: Very very very gory

This film (based on the manga anime series) takes you to tokyo rife with Yakuza and killings. The boss Anjo disappears with 3 million Yen and the second in commmand Kakihara vows to find him. Kakihara is a machoist, enjoying every moment of each of his torture scenes where he plays god with peoples pain. His skewers penetrating cheeks, jaws, feet and many other parts of anatomy! Not for the faint-hearted I'm afraid, I hought it was worse that saw, very gory, very detailed. Torture, violence and rape. Loved the Japanese theme, you can get a taste of the culture too. Really its not that bad!!!

Advantages: Well made, good story, good acting.
Disadvantages: Not exactly horror but a good thriller!

So I enjoyed the original body snatchers films and was pleased to hear that there was a remake. The DVD release was somewhat under promoted to the fact that it lost money at the box office (they spent more making it than it made!). I thought I'd give it a chance and watch it and to be honest I thoroughly enjoyed it!
