Something Wicked This Way Comes
Advantages: Genuinely creepy, spiced with nice dialogue & atmospherics Disadvantages: Laughable conclusion spoils all the good work
In the early 70s a clutch of young directors and talent threatened to pump new life and indeed blood into the British horror film. Peter Sasdy, Peter Sykes, Alan Gibson and John Hough appeared the most promising and the ones most likely to wrestle the reins from elder statesmen such as Terence Fisher and Freddie Francis. As gothic horror faltered at the box office, studios opened up to the idea of younger imaginations as they sought to recapture ... ...television, and who had directed the spirited if typically flawed Hammer outing 'Twins of Evil'. Armed with a talky but atmospheric script, Richard Matheson adapted his own novel 'Hell House' , the film was already on solid ground. Add faces like Roddy McDowall, Clive Revill and Pamela Franklin to the mix. Alan Hume was employed to light and shoot the picture, while Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop were contracted ...

Another jewel in Hammer´s crown
Advantages: Vampires, sets, photography, costumes, music Disadvantages: Some hokey preaching

Death Note (デスノート, Desu NÅto?) is a series of two live-action Japanese films released in 2006 and based on the Death Note manga and anime series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. PMS Can Be A Devil
Advantages: Disturbing, chilling atmosphere Disadvantages: Not all it's cracked up to be; terrible special effects, some laughable bits
...beginning to drastically differ from the sweet young girl she once was. When doctors examine Regan they find that she turns violent and screams profanities at them which she has never done before. I wasn’t around when The Exorcist was first released back in 1973 but have heard numerous things about the film ... ...to watch the film but have always been hesitant due to all the harrowing things I’ve heard about it. The film has been named ‘The Scariest Film Of All Time’… fitting? I still don’t know. I have heard about people committing suicide after seeing the film but curiosity got the better of me and surely 36 years after it’s initial release the film wouldn’t be able to achieve the same shock factor would it?
That I can’t effectively answer, after seeing ...
