Pfeiffer and Broderick in Bestiality Shocker
Advantages: It is a classic Disadvantages: The music is a bit dated
...I had never heard of! Ladyhawke what the heck is Ladyhawke? Wait a minute it has got a couple of names in it though Matthew Broderick, (He was in Wargames and Ferris Bueller’s Day off wasn’t he?) Rutger Hauer (He was the cool android in Blade Runner) but who on earth is Michelle Pffeiffer???? Still it looks like it could be fun and I bet Hauer is the bad guy. So £2.50 later I am watching something that will have me in the cinema again the next day.
... ...So me getting my current Ladyhawke fix is thanks to a friend of mine having the DVD in his collection and being willing to loan it to me:) So on Monday afternoon I sat back and relaxed as I met up with a friend I have not seen in a long time to say the least.
PREMISE
Phillipe (Matthew Broderick) a pickpocket with an over inflated idea of his relationship with God has managed to escape from the hell that is the dungeons of Aquila! This is actually ...

Pike isn't a name, its a fish!
Advantages: Feel-good and light hearted. Disadvantages: Not for the hardcore TV series fans.
Okay, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie is definately not for everyone. If you're a fan of the series & love Sarah Michelle Gellar as the vampire-slaying, butt-kicking Buffy, then this is probably not your cup of tea.
The Buffy TV series is a whole lot more gothic, more serious, and has a rockier soundtrack. The movie on the other hand is pretty light hearted, and girly. In a word, i'd say this movie is cheesy. But that doesn't mean its bad. If ... ...people would probably say they prefer the series. Its just a case of taste, really. The movie seems more of a late 80's film, what with the fashion and soundtrack. The whole thing is not taken too seriously, and a lot of the vampires are pretty slapstick.
I think it's a brilliant, feel good film, if you disregard the series for an hour and a half! ...

The Hitcher
Advantages: A suspenseful film with some great extras Disadvantages: None
...Halsey is falling asleep at the wheel, so when he sees a hitchhiker on the side of the road he decides to go against his mother's advice and pick him up.
The hitchhiker says his name is John Ryder but he refuses to give any other information, including where he is heading. Ryder forces Jim to speed past an abandoned vehicle at the side of the road, and this sparks Jim to be suspicious of his passenger. As a result he stops the car and asks him to ... ...Ryder explains that he killed the driver of the abandoned car and tells Jim that he is going to do the same to him and holds a knife to his throat. Jim manages to succeed in forcing Ryder from his car and drives away, thinking he has escaped from danger. However his connection with the mad hitcher has only just begun...
Whereas other movies take this kind of urban legend starting point and turn it into a bland horror movie, THE HITCHER instead becomes ...

What Did Your Mother Tell You About Strangers?
Advantages: Some tension Disadvantages: Slow and dull, not as good as the remake
...picks up a hitchhiker in the form of John Ryder (Rutger Hauer), after some awkward and forced conversation things take a turn for the worst. John pulls out a knife, he orders Jim to say ‘I want to die’, Jim manages to push John out of the car before speeding off however what Jim doesn’t know is that the nightmare is only just beginning. Jim tries to forget about the incident and continues to drive the way to California but it’s not long before John ... ...finds himself being arrested for the horrific crimes that John has been committing; with no driving licence and no one to contact it looks like Jim’s in more trouble that he knows, but will John stay away?
After watching the recent remake of The Hitcher starring Sean Bean and Sophia Bush I was impressed at how tense the atmosphere was from start to finish therefore was looking forward to seeing how the original would fare against the modern reincarnation ...

Cinematic classic
Advantages: Innovative and stunning Disadvantages: none
...the 1982, Ridley Scott film, Blade Runner.
Blade Runner is a visually stunning film, set in the not too distant future. Replicants, which are human androids and look and act like humans in just about every way, are used on off world colonies to serve people. When six renegade replicants, led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), escape, it is up to "blade runner" cop Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) to hunt them down and terminate them. A blade runner is a specialist ... ...Deckard will be pushed to the limit this time and will have to face a difficult decision that could change his life forever.
This is an excellent film, which will amaze you straight from the opening shot over the futuristic world. It is a somewhat disturbing vision of the future, which adds to the eerie mood of the film. The cast are brilliant and includes Sean Young, Daryl Hannah in supporting roles. Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer are great, especially ...
