Have A Little Faith in Buffy

Advantages: Great storylines, great new characters
Disadvantages: A couple of poor episodes

Season three saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer really getting into its stride. With more complex plots, the characters grew as much as the show itself. I don't want to repeat the general information I put into my review of seasons one and two, so I'll just jump straight into reviewing the characters and episodes. Check my profile for my reviews of the first two seasons! --Characters-- The mainstays from seasons one and two return as our fearless gang ...
...end of last season saw Buffy running away from home, and the season three opener picks up a couple of months later. Buffy's in LA, working as a waitress in a diner - but is there something more sinister going on with LA's disadvantaged youths? This is a rather weak start to the season, but the episode has its good moments. Episode Two: Dead Man's Party Buffy's friends decide to throw her a welcome home party, but as always in Sunnydale: it's not ...

Buffy Takes the Initiative

Advantages: Some amazing episodes, great seasonal arc and great performances
Disadvantages: One or two bad episodes

...boards that season four of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is where the show lost its way. I disagree - in my opinion the show only got bigger and better with each season. In season four, Buffy and Willow head off to the local university, whilst Xander moves into his parents basement and tries to find a direction in life. Giles is feeling a little useless with no job and nothing to do. I don't want to repeat the general information I put into my review ...
...the local UC Sunnydale, but Buffy soon finds herself in over her head. A vampire gang who kill students and steal their belongings soon appears, and it's up to Buffy to deal with them. This is a great season opener - we the viewer are plunged into the unfamiliar world of college along with Buffy, which works really well. Episode Two: Living Conditions Buffy has to deal with her annoying roommate in this episode - and she thinks there's something ...

Buffy tastic! The Buffy the Vampire Slayer Box Set

Advantages: great entertainment
Disadvantages: none

Background: I grew up with Buffy and her trials and tribulations were fairly similar to my own (except I saved the world less and encountered fewer demons). When I saw the complete DVD collection in a shop I just couldn't resist. The box set: The box set includes all 7 seasons, with each season in a separate case. As you'd expect each case also contains a little booklet telling you about each episode and the extras on the discs. The title screens ...
...was to get all the Buffy episodes together! The episodes: The humour and stories are just as good as I remembered them and I would utterly and without reservation recommend this box set to anyone who has fond Buffy memories! **also published on dooyoo under the same name** ...

The Buffy Cult

Advantages: Something for everyone
Disadvantages: It finished :(

BUffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is 15 years old when she finds out that she has been chosen to be the vampire slayer. She is given the responsibilty of fighting demons and vampires. After burning down her school gym in LA, she moves to Sunnydale, which it turns out was built on a hell mouth, and attracts vampires and demons from all over the world. In Sunnydale, she meets her best friends Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Xander (Nicholas Brendon), who ...
...Throughout the seven seasons, buffy fights against an array of demons and creatures and saves the world from hellish fates on several occasions. Its impossible to get bored of it! It is a brilliant tv programme, filled with horror, drama, comedy, romance and action. There's something in it for everybody - even a musical episode. Sarah Michelle Gellar has also starred in films such as cruel intentions, the grudge and scooby doo. ...

Fangtastic!

Advantages: Outstanding episodes such as Passion and Becoming
Disadvantages: Go Fish.

Buffy season 2. Where the series really hit it's stride. This was the season that had it all, from vampires and ghosts, to the even more evil Principal Snyder. This series introduced a true mainstay of Buffy episodes to come. The amazing James Martsers as William the Bloody, more commonly known as Spike, and his crazy girlfriend Drusilla. This season was darker than the first, with the powerful twist of a friend turning deadly enemy, the death of ...
...also gifted with the amazing episode Passion, which to describe would spoil the impact for those who have not seen it, but is nevertheless one of the entire series finest episodes. The DVD itself is packed full of extras, from TV spots and trailers to several featurettes and audio commentaries and also a stills gallery. If you are a fan of the show you should already have this. If you have never heard of Buffy, get this now! ...
