PMS Can Be A Devil
Advantages: Disturbing, chilling atmosphere Disadvantages: Not all it's cracked up to be; terrible special effects, some laughable bits
...beginning to drastically differ from the sweet young girl she once was. When doctors examine Regan they find that she turns violent and screams profanities at them which she has never done before. Doctors decide that a physiatrist may be the best option for Regan, but when all else fails Regan’s Mother is forced to turn to the church…
I wasn’t around when The Exorcist was first released back in 1973 but have heard numerous things about the film ... ...to watch the film but have always been hesitant due to all the harrowing things I’ve heard about it. The film has been named ‘The Scariest Film Of All Time’… fitting? I still don’t know. I have heard about people committing suicide after seeing the film but curiosity got the better of me and surely 36 years after it’s initial release the film wouldn’t be able to achieve the same shock factor would it?
That I can’t effectively answer, after seeing ...

"There'll be no morning for us" - Hopefully not Helen.
Advantages: Christopher Lee, great imagery Disadvantages: Lots of boring dialogue
...what happened in the last Dracula film with Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) destroying Dracula by forcing him to enter daylight where he crumbles into dust. It is ten years later, in Transylvania and the body of a young girl is being carried out into the forest by a sombre group who all look like English puritans and all with English accents. They’re going to stake her through the heart as they believe she has been bitten a vampire. A distraught mother ... ...in a ritual sacrifice brings Dracula back to life with the blood of Alan. And the proverbial hits the fan and about time, it took forever for Dracula to arrive in this film. What I Thought I at first intended on reviewing all the Dracula films in this Christopher Lee series, however, I couldn’t find the first one but this film can stand on it’s own. All you really need to know is that Dracula is a vampire and Van Helsing vanquished him into a ...

An introduction to exploitation
Advantages: A good introduction to exploitation films and the work of Jess Franco Disadvantages: But it might be too tame if you're already a fan of exploitation films
...two exploitation films directed by Jess Franco and released under Tartan's Grindhouse label. As such they're not masterpieces, or suitable for all tastes, but they do attract a fairly strong cult following and are definitely worth a watch if you're interested in seeing films that are a bit off the beaten path. This is apparently the second Jess Franco double bill released by Tartan although it's the only one I've seen (and was my introduction to ... ...can gather most fans of Jess Franco will just be glad to have these films on DVD and the quality is about as good as the films are ever going to get.
The DVDs have next to nothing in the way of extras. Devil's Island Lovers contains approximately 30 minutes of additional and alternate scenes which made up the more sexually and violently explicit French version of the film. These scenes are of poor sound and video quality and look like they were ...

A film made in Hell
Advantages: its only a film Disadvantages: is it?
The Exorcist (Directors Cut).
I'm pretty sure that by now, most people would have heard about the Exorcist film, either Film, Dvd, Video or just from memories of parents.
The later of this summary is what I'm basing my review on.
I was one of many who stood outside the cinema in the pouring rain, of the first showing of this movie, at our local cinema in the early 70's.
I thought it was quite funny at the time to listen to; Priests and Nuns outside ... ...it more.
Yes at the time it was truly horrifying, and left a real chill down the spine, every time I heard a bird in our loft after that I was convinced it was the devil looking for another possession.
But time moved on, and 100's of Horror films later, it all seemed a distant memory, and then I came across this DVD, the Directors Cut, it had me intreaged, what would be different and would I notice any difference.
My son who is nearly 17 asked ...
