Advantages: a good fiolm for the whole family. Disadvantages: its abit old nowadays
Delightful film version of the Off Broadway triumph based on the Roger Corman black comedy, carried off beautifully here by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's memorable tunes. The plot of the film is A nerdish florist finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant man-eating plant who demands to be fed.The plant seems to have a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for his supper (the voice of Levi Stubbs). So this is one of the original Zombie flicks. It's made in the days when zombies were zombies slow walking and murderous and a bit stupid. Not like todays versions were zombies are running all over the show making us Livies look really unfit. It's all that fruit and fibre people are eating it's affecting their afterlife and all. When i watched it i was surpised how good the effects are for an old film. They aren't as fake looking as i thought they would ... ...are very fake. But the effects aren't really that bad. But in the film they didn't use many effects because it is left more to your mind.

i think this is what made it a bit jumpy. The music is used really well to make you jump a little bit which is a good thing since it is a horror film.
with this film i thought it was sort of scary. but since it was released in 1959 we have moved on a bit with effects so this didn't make it that scary. ...
