Overblown and gothic fun Advantages: Brilliant performance by Gary Oldman Disadvantages: Terrible performance by Keanu Reeves Bram Stoker would have been amazed if he knew that the stories his mother told him while he was sick in bed, would grow into one of the biggest myths and moneyspinners of the 20th century. Coppola's film is a gothic, sumptuous and rather overblown version of the novel. As for 'faithful' - I don't remember a bit where Lucy runs through the garden wearing a red curtain only to be shagged senseless by a bison. Or the bit at the beginning where Vlad ... ...- faithful to the book my arse! Never mind. Gary Oldman is fabulous as Dracula - sexy, anguished, and with an accent you can't place but somehow it sounds ancient, steeped in grandeur and blood. He's quite stunning in the role and you do feel for him. (Not like the book at all really where the Count doesn't actually appear that much and when he does, he's a red-eyed stinky breathed monster). Saw Trilogy Review Advantages: Great price, 3 great movies, Gore fans will love it! Disadvantages: None- I loved it. ...these are must see movies. Saw trilogy remarkably reworks the horror genre by adding a plot that is genuinely unique and keeps you guessing until the very end. There is no holding back when it comes to scene sheer violence and terror on screen as wrong doers are tortured. The strange part is that the killer in the movies does not think he is a killer, he believes that he is helping the victims. The people he tortures have all done something wrong ... ...to play a terrifying game to realise there errors and live better lives. The trap/death scenes are unique in each movie and will live you hiding behind your sofa. It's a must watch to see these scenes alone. A great addition for any gore fan. The Suddenly Sensation of Supernatural Advantages: good plot, talented actors Disadvantages: some parts get a little scary Supernatural follows the stories of Dean and Sam Winchester. Sam Winchester has made a good life from his curious childhood. Sam is studying to be a lawyer at Standford University and him and his girlfriend are very close. Then, after not seeing each other for years, Dean, Sam's brother, shows up at Sam's room. Dean tells his brother that 'Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days." Scary Movie Is Good Advantages: a good movie and allright cast Disadvantages: The Special Effects Scary Movies is a good movie to see. Therese laughter is the movie from the beginning to end. Scary Movie is a spoof movie about all the horror, action, of movies that was good or bad that year. There cast line up is OK the Wayne brothers in the movie was the ones to bring the movie out more. The Hammer Collection Box Set Advantages: An aesthetically pleasing collection Disadvantages: Some rather poor inclusions ...of classic Hammer films from the very good to...not so good. An aesthetically pleasing set for fans of the studio, or those wanting at least half of the titles. Features star favourites Peter Cushing, Raquel Welch, Ursula Andress and Christopher Lee (about whom there is an interesting documentary with 'Scars of Dracula'). The extra features vary greatly, the biggest ommission, in my opinion, is the total absence of subtitles for the hearing impaired. ... ...some for the first time, and completely uncut. My personal favourite was the inclusion of the 1965 film 'The Nanny' which stars a very chilling Bette Davis in a well scripted, and often overlooked role.
