The Omen Pentology (Box Set)

Advantages: Fantasically shot, great value horror package
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too focused and gory for the casual viewer

The Omen Pentology is definately a collection of top quailty horror films with convincing acting and great inovative camera techniques. That said the pentology is probably best left to the horror fans. People curious about the genre might find it a bit too focused and perhaps should start with more approachable films such as 28 days later. The films all have a different feel and angle but together form a definate collection and I would advise that ...

The result of a downward spiral

Advantages: Completes the Ring story, to an extent.
Disadvantages: Confusing as hell; just not scary.

...was a magnificent film, and Ring 2 a worthy successor. With Ring 0: Birthday comes a change of director, and a change of pace, and not necessarily for the better. Set 30 years previous to the other two, the film has a confusing opening, where Sadako appears to be a relatively normal person in an acting troupe. The wife of the journalist killed by Sadako at Shizuko's demonstration (the flashback sequence from Ringu) has set out, determined to take ...
...away from the horror and onto the characters helps differentiate Ring 0: Birthday from its two siblings, but ruins the legacy of the series to a certain degree. For the astounding Ringu to finish like this is tragic at best. Buy only if you really want to own them all. ...

The Japanese Twilight Zone - in 5 minute bursts

Advantages: Plenty of stories, easy for loo/tea breaks
Disadvantages: Likes the spooky girl with white nightie a bit much

...made into a series called Tales of Terror. This collection is what they came up with and forms going on for three hours (approximately 165 minutes) of Japanese horror shorts. It has quite a distinguished pedigree too. The cover tells us that such directors as Takashi Shimziu ("Ju-on: The Grudge"), Norio Tsuruta ("Ring 0"), Hiroshi Takahashi ("Ring 2") and Kei Horie ("The Grudge 2") have all contributed. Most of the stories are very good and many ...

The Omen Trilogy - worth the money.

Advantages: All three of the awsome omen trilogy in one box set. Nifty!
Disadvantages: none as far as I can see.

...heaven for any fan of the trilogy and, in my humble opinion, perfect to acompany a nice night in with a take away. When his baby is stillborn, Robert Thorn just can't bring himself to break the news to his belovd wife and adopts another newborn baby as a replacement. Although this might work well with small pets it doesn't work so well with children, He might have thought twice if he had realised that the childs father was Satan and the mother was ...

Ring trilogy-brilliant!

Advantages: Very scary! Well directed and executed
Disadvantages: Can seem a bit slow

These are some of the scariest films I have ever seen! I have seen the original Japanese versions and thought that these American remakes were amazing films in their own right. Deaths are occuring 7 days after watching a certain video but you never really see anyone get killed so the suspense and mystery are high which makes the films scarier. It plays on your imagination and builds up suspense very well for an american horror film. Some could say ...
...that this builds up the suspense even more and makes it much scarier! I think these films are well directed and executed and would reccommend anyone who hasnt seen them to buy this box set. Even though it is rated a 15, viewers older than this will be scared! ...
