A Chilling Classic Reminding You That Anything Can Happen... Advantages: Colours are richer and crisper, the music is truely UNIQUE! Disadvantages: storyline is basic but typical of that era, movie is short lived Wow!! The movie has been brought back to life in much clearer picture detail to tell the tale of 5 teenagers in an accidental situation of desperate survial against a cannibalistic family with a chainsaw weilding maniac in the deep south of rural Texas. (The storyline is simple,dead simple, which makes it much more realistic and easy to follow) HOT HOT HOT!- the uncomfortable heat and drieness of the Texas setting compliments the theme of desperate ... ...Burns) desperatly tries to evade the freaky chainsaw weilding psycho under the moonlight, is a horrific scene that will most certainly leave you stunned in your seats as she screams histerically through the woods with her iconic white flares glowing in the moonlight supressing her desperate attempts to hide... The rich colours of the classic film are something to be pleased about, the deep blacks, warm oranges and azur blues are very impressive ... Skeletons In James Cameron's Closet Advantages: unintentionally funny :o) Disadvantages: unintentionally funny :o( ...potential in the first place. Piranha 1 was directed by Joe Dante(Gremlins, The Howling) overseen by king of the crappy B-movie cash-ins Roger Corman and was made solely to cash in on the phenomenal success of Spielberg's Jaws rather than to be anything special in its own right. It wasn't. A couple of years later someone comes up with an even worse plot, lower budget and abysmal script for Piranha 2 and Cameron ends up saddled with it - and a producer ... ...No matter, whatever the reasons, Piranha 2 is a supremely bad piece of cinema. It opens trashily enough. A couple are diving a wreck(no not the Titanic, thats a few years off), when for some reason they decide to get it on - diving makes you horny obviously. Next thing you know both are shredding by a shoal of Piranha! Nice intro, and about as good as this movie gets. It can't tear anything apart. Can it? Advantages: Its a bona-fide scary movie. Disadvantages: Too scary? I watched Hellraiser for the first time last night and for a horror-lover like myself, this was long overdue. Perhaps it was down to the fact that i put it off until i could muster a moments peace to dim the lights and watch it alone. This, in hindsight, would prove a harrowing plan. It takes little time in setting the scene and its clear the foundations are being laid bare for the onslaught of sheer terror that ensues.
