the curse of the dead........

Advantages: gripping, haunting images
Disadvantages: not enough blood

...of Mario Bava's other films, Kill Baby, Kill is actually a quiet ghost story. It still creates the air of suspense throughout the film, and keeps you on edge. The Plot Dr Paul Eswai receives a summons from Inspector Kruger to come to a small village in Transylvania. He is asked to perform an autopsy on the body of a young girl who was found impaled on iron railings. He is helped by Monica, who is ex-local girl. Whilst Dr Paul Eswai stays to help ...
...Graps. Melissa was a young girl who had been left to bleed to death after an accident by drunken villagers. Her spirit is said to still roam the village and whoever catches sight of it suffers the same fate she did. Soon, one by one, the villagers start dying. Inspector Kruger is also found dead. Attack of the Killer Pigeons <Guffaw>

Advantages: Has the right B Movie Feel
Disadvantages: But just ain't scary!

...of humans being attacked by birds that are otherwise normally very docile. It seems that bird-kind has had enough of being pushed around and now it is the humans who are in their way, as opposed to the other way round. The similarities to Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds are evident - conceptually, Birds of Prey is roughly about the same idea. Sadly, in the hands of a far less visionary director, and with a far smaller budget, Birds of Prey is unlikely ...
...Heel and saves the day. Birds of Prey plays roughly to this formula. The setting is slightly unusual - the action takes place in Spain rather than the USA - but otherwise things play to a tried and tested formula. Events start out on a small scale and then quickly escalate until they've suddenly got out of hand. There are those who disbelieve, rapidly persuaded otherwise when they see the problem with their own hands. And then there are the innocents; ...

Riotous Fun for the Most Part

Advantages: Brilliant fun, some interesting gore, hilarious!
Disadvantages: Overlong, technically dreadful!

Zombie Holocaust In 2005, my sister Claire and I decided to begin watching horror films. Fed up with the recent wave of sadistic, American slasher movies, we opted for something a little more exotic: the J-horror and Italian horror scenes. We had seen the Ring, the Grudge, Dark Water, The Beyond and so on, but wondered if delving deeper into the realms of weird, horror cinema would give us the 'absurd' high we were craving. To begin with, let me ...
...Absolutely hysterical, especially the goriest zombie death scene on the beach – realism loses whatever little grip it had on this film. Finally, another classic dreadful moment is the much-quoted ‘The patient's screaming disturbing me, performed removal of vocal chords’, which he removes by reaching no further than her tongue with a pair of tweezers and removing what looked to be something the size of a small tooth with relative ease. Another moment ...

Look out .... ZOMBIE SHARK!

Advantages: All zombie fans will love this.
Disadvantages: The films dub is a little off, but who cares when there's zombies involved.

...yet to see all the zombie features.. so I'm a little slow - bite me ;^) This is one that has been in the back of my brain on my must watch list for a long time. Up until I recently saw the film, I suppose I was a little sceptic to it being in any way as entertaining as some of the brilliant Romero films (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead).. But I was pleasantly surprised at how scary and gore-tastic it was. The fantastically ...

Death Note Movie Version (DVD)

Advantages: totally worth to collect
Disadvantages: if you not a DN fan or movie freak, then you will not really interested in it

Death Note (デスノート, Desu NÅto?) is a series of two live-action Japanese films released in 2006 and based on the Death Note manga and anime series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The films primarily center on a university student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. The two films were directed by ShÅ«suke Kaneko, produced by Nippon Television, and distributed ...
...as the "Death Note". The Death Note's instructions claim that if a person's name is written within it while picturing that person's face, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, he realizes that the Death Note is real. Soon he is visited by the Note's original owner, a shinigami named Ryuk. After that meeting, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his ...
