You wish they hadn't bothered

Advantages: none at all
Disadvantages: littered with plotholes

...electrocution would have killed him beyond any shadow of a doubt. This is the 1st Halloween film to end showing us Myers is still alive. Every other film has either shown him dead or locked away or impossibly trapped. This film was dire. (this review also appears on dooyoo) ...

As weak as the water its named after

Advantages: Jamie Lee Curtis looking hot
Disadvantages: the silly plot

Basically the plot is set in a school where Laurie Strode works and her son is also a pupil there, the whole school goes off to a camp but the son, his girlfriend, best friend and his girlfriend sneak away to stay behind inside the school leaving the school empty apart from them 5 and LL Cool J playing the security guard and token black guy to be terrorized by Myers. Why did Jamie Lee Curtis agree to be in this? She was good in number 1, whereas ...
...Lot's of things don't make sense. Like how Myers found her if she changed her name (to Keri Tate)? Was she still in Haddonfield? How does Myers get out of the bodybag? Those things really aren't designed to be opened from the inside. Why does no-one EVER shoot him in the head? It's just a huge spit on the 1st film. Each version getting gradually worse. Some of the action sequences are half decent, even the little nod to the film Aliens where Curtis ...

Why not six, Blake? Why not me?

Advantages: Timeless, classic horror tale
Disadvantages: Sadly a wasted Blu-ray release on some levels

Of all the many movies I have seen (believe me I’ve seen a lot) John Carpenter’s The Fog is probably the film I have seen the most. Released in the UK in the early 1980’s The Fog is a horror tale so cleverly delivered that almost 30 years after it was made it still looks as fantastic as it did then. In the small town of Antonio Bay the residents are preparing for the 100th anniversary of their home. For 99 years all has been quiet in the community, ...
...be turned upside down; while the town celebrates Father Malone (Hal Holbrook) an original township descendant exposes a terrible secret about the history of their home, they are not only celebrating the anniversary of their homes, but also the fact that their ancestors were responsible for a terrible crime. On the back of two very successful low budget features (Halloween and Assault On Precinct 13) The Fog was the opportunity for director John Carpenter ...

Perhaps it's time to leave town?

Advantages: Some genuine chills, good story, good soundtrack.
Disadvantages: Weak writing, some 'iffy' performances.

...directed by John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing, Assault on Precint 13, Starman). It stars Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Houseman, Janet Leigh and Hal Halbrook. It begins with a eerie story told around a campfire by an old and grizzled sailor to a group of young children. The story is of a ship, the Elizabeth Dane, which sank a hundred years ago just off their small Californian town, Antonio Bay. As the film begins the town is just getting ...
...happening in the Bay and Father Malone (Hal Holbrook) has just discovered a rather unsavoury secret about the towns forefathers that puts a grisly spin on the festivities... This film suffers a bit from splitting the main action between two heroines. Stevie Wayne (Adrienne Barbeau) is the owner of a radio station and mother of a young son Andy (Ty Mitchell). She hosts the station's nighttime show and is witness to a mysterious glowing fog that appears ...

Death Note Movie Version (DVD)

Advantages: totally worth to collect
Disadvantages: if you not a DN fan or movie freak, then you will not really interested in it

Death Note (デスノート, Desu NÅto?) is a series of two live-action Japanese films released in 2006 and based on the Death Note manga and anime series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The films primarily center on a university student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. The two films were directed by ShÅ«suke Kaneko, produced by Nippon Television, and distributed ...
...as the "Death Note". The Death Note's instructions claim that if a person's name is written within it while picturing that person's face, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, he realizes that the Death Note is real. Soon he is visited by the Note's original owner, a shinigami named Ryuk. After that meeting, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his ...
