This is another one of those films that I watched in my youth and was really impressed with. I used to have a friend whose bedroom was full of banned horror films and he would happily lend them to myself and my friends. This film at the time was right up my alley but watching it now I am ashamed of my young self and his poor taste.
Plotwise ... ...- most of the characters are called King, Romero, Carpenter etc. The film is also gory, which is what you want in a zombie film. Also the premise of a world no overrun with zombies and used to the idea is a good one.
