3 Classic Horror Movies from the Past

Advantages: Engaging Story Lines
Disadvantages: Lack of special effects due to production period

...the genre of horror, these 3 classics can bring enjoyment to all those that appreciate horror of high quality. With the use of compelling storylines and gruesome images, the viewer is left always anxious at what would come next - that's how true horror began to develop. Through these elements, those who watch it forget the fanciful special effects that present day cinema offers and is taken in by this collection's creative brilliance. All 3 movies ...
...plot lines and cinematic professionalism. "Little Shop of Horrors" focusses more on the "horrible" part of horror movies, whereas "The Bat" proves as having more of a psychological effect on the viewers. "The Bride of the Monster" is for all those who are interested in the horror genre as a whole - one of the movies that inspired future horror producers. ...

2 out of 3 ain't bad

Advantages: A Bucket of Blood and House on Haunted Hill
Disadvantages: The Ghoul

A Bucket of Blood is one of my favourite classics. An enjoyable 'Wax Museum' genre that takes a slightly different approach. This time, the artist is actually very slow witted and has no talent, as you will see. He works at a coffee shop full of poets and art buffs and wants so desperately to join their world. So, one thing leads to another, and, if your familiar with the genre, you know how it goes. House on Haunted Hill is one of the great classics ...
...horror or is it murder-mystery. To answer that question, i would have to spoil it. So, watch and find out for yourself, you won't be dissappointed. Unfortunately, The Ghoul is probably one of Karloff's worst. Karloff is one of my favourites, but he doesn't really act in this one. The story is very slow, and doesn't build up to anything all that shocking. Just some ancient Egyptian Mummy curse, some rich guy trying to be immortal. Nothing I haven't ...

Breeders

Advantages: The alien, the acting, the college girls
Disadvantages: None really

Breeders is your basic mid budgeted alien DVD. There are the usual sterotypical characters from the good looking, sensitive, blond haired professer with the nerdy glasses to the no nonsence hardman cop. That may make the film sound cheesy and bad but the acting is really quite good. This goes hand in hand with the script which is also really well done and doesn't make the mistake of adding bad jokes throughout. Instead it sticks to it's genre and ...
...that you could fit into the "main" catergory but that just leaves more for the alien to kill. The story is simple; a meteor crashes to Earth outside of an all girls college, it leaves a strange blue rock and people start to experience strange happenings around the college. That's basically it, without giving away the ending, the writer(s) have made the simple story work. The Alien itself is really well made. It is much more effective than any expensive ...

Kill A Zombie With A Frying Pan?...No Problems

Advantages: Good "Zom-Com"
Disadvantages: May Be Too Gory For Some

I have always been a huge fan of zombie films and who doesn't love a good comedy? So with little expectations of cinematic genius and more hope for a lighthearted giggle, I headed to the cinema to see Zombieland. Based in a world where mad cow disease has mutated and effected the mass populous, zombies are running wild in the USA and there are few who have managed to escape being infected or eaten alive. "Columbus" is one of the lucky few, with his ...
...he isn't turned into one of the undead. He is joined by Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock along the way and the story follows the 4 as they try to survive and head for a theme park for a bit of normality during a zombie apocalypse...as you obviously would! "Tallahassee" played by Woody Harrelson is the tough guy who is the perfect balance to Jesse Eisenberg's character "Columbus" who is geeky and basically a little bit of a nerd. Emma Stone plays ...

Second installment of Twilight Saga

Advantages: Good special effects
Disadvantages: Not good for team Edward fans

I've been waiting for this for quite sometime and I am glad it's finally here. I just went to see it and I have to say it is more or less meets what I was expecting. In this second installment, they have really stepped up with the game, with better costumes and special effects. The werewolves are great to watch. Having read the books, I think Chris has followed very closely to it and make some good changes to some of the less major scenes, while ...
...the cup of tea for team Edward fans as he only appears for the first and last part of the movie while the majority of the movie is dominated by Jacob(Taylor Launtner). Kristen and Taylor did a good job in bringing the chemistry and the kind of relationship between Jacob and Bella in the book. As in the book, some of their conversations gives me giggle!! Acting wise, I am quite impressed with Taylor. Being only 17, he managed to capture all the emotions ...
