Valentine the Slasher?
Advantages: some pretty faces in the film Disadvantages: poor acting, easy to guess who the killer is
...him at the high school Valentine Ball and being cruelly rejected by all of them bar one, Dorothy, who is slightly chubby (but this is USA slightly chubby means she’s seen by all as really fat), who goes under the stage and has a bit of a kissing session with him till some other kids see them and she claims he forced himself on her. The other mean kids pour some gunk all over him and you realise this is why the kid turns into a bit of a psycho! Fast ... ...to the house where the Valentine party is taking place and the victims are being killed off very rapidly but his attendance (or rather lack of it) is never evident. I just thought it was a bit weird to show the scene of him calling to say he was on his way and then… nothing! Can’t go into more detail about the climax obviously as I don’t want to spoil the ending of the film – although I guessed correctly pretty early on as to who the killer was. ...

First organ I see, I'm just gonna grab it!
Advantages: Story, Funny, Disadvantages: No clue killer is
...insists that it’s only an urban legend. Natalie (Alicia Witt) and Brenda (Rebecca Gayheart) are sceptical and for fun decide to go to the big building where the massacre apparently took place and resurrect the dead by saying “Bloody Mary” 3 times only to be scared by Damon (Joshua Jackson) the joker of the group. Anyway they all seem to attend this class which seems to be on urban legends apparently and taught by a guy who acts like he’s teaching ... ...being murdered himself in a urban legend kinda way. Natalie panics and runs for security but when they come back to the woods, Damon’s body is gone and due to his reputation they think he probably just pulled a prank on Natalie. Natalie’s not so sure and she tries to convince Paul to believe her and after another mysterious and odd murder that the school try to cover up as suicide they think they’re on to something and start investigating themselves. ...

Survival Can Be Murder
Advantages: Interesting turn around Disadvantages: Absolutely nothing new
...the incredibly low budget movie Storm Warning a movie both praised and loathed, I thought after such varied reviews it was well deserving of my eyes.
Rob and Pia plan an afternoon out sailing along the coast and inlets along a remote Australian coast, but as the beautiful day turns stormy they find that they are pushed inland with water slowly disappearing. Having finally been shored the two make their way along the muddy banks before stumbling ... ...their home intruded upon.
Storm Warning looks cheap, so much so that it's difficult to get to grips that although for a short time Jamie Blanks received some acclaim, Storm Warning has a very much first feature film about it. And even though the movie's cheap production values annoyed me a little, with cheap shots, wobbly camerawork, and a kind of hollowness (much like a public toilet); I decided to stick with it to see what direction the movie ...

Bore Six
Advantages: Some tension synonomous with the Saw franchise, chilling music Disadvantages: Lack of plot/ideas, very slow and tedious
...have number 6 in the Saw franchise, this has split public opinion much like John and Edward on X Factor recently, some like the films, some hate them. I too have mixed opinions on the Saw films as I loved the first four yet the fifth and sixth instalments in the series don’t match up to the ingenuity, the nail biting tension or the sheer carnage which we witness behind our hands in the first four. Since 2004 there has been a Saw film released every ... ...I personally feel like 3 Saw films would have been adequate however Saw 4 brought in another dimension to the films which seemed to relight the series and in a way was the first in another trilogy of Saw films. Bringing in a back-story for Jigsaw has become the basis of the most recent three films. Saw 4 did well in establishing the reasons behind Jigsaw’s psychopathic ways but I feel that was enough as Saw 5 brought nothing new to proceedings that ...

Let's Hear It For Campy British Horror - YAY!
Advantages: Great cast, entertaining, mix of genres Disadvantages: Not to everyone's taste
The House That Dripped Blood is a camp horror film, which lasts 97 mins and is rated a 12. I bought it from Amazon UK for just £3.98, which I felt was a great price. I have recently got into watching horror – but only the old, classic era ones from the 1970s or earlier, definitely not the modern gore-fests. To me, I like a good cast, traditional horror elements and a fair bit of suspense. I am not interested in huge amounts of blood and on-screen ... ...instead loving the old Vincent Price films and the like.
I first heard of The House That Dripped Blood after reading a review of it on Dooyoo by Jake Speed and it sounded just my kind of thing. I was not disappointed.
Despite its horrific cover, the film itself is not nearly so frightening. Filmed at Shepperton Studios, it has a stellar mainly-British cast (Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Jon Pertwee, Ingrid Pitt, Denholm Elliot, Joss Ackland, ...
