...help and trys to open the door to a room where a girl is trapped only for the mangler to return...the son comes in to help and the so called daughter returns from college it goes on.... its laughable i almost make it sound good when actually the whole film is very pooly acted throughout and has a terrible plot only worthy of the dustbin.......plus its only 1 hour and 14 minutes long thats not even a film!! if you want a good night in avoid this ...

The Tall Man is coming!

Advantages: It comes in a cool "phantasm sphere", which contains four good films - and a bonus disc!
Disadvantages: This series may not be for your run-of-the-mill horror fan - it's a cult type of series!

Review of Phantasm (Limited Edition) (Collector's Box Set) (DVD)

In its own way a horror classic

Advantages: Great locations, dreamlike narrative, great villain, memorable characters
Disadvantages: Lame effects (for the most part), looks dated

Phantasm has a lot going for it - a truly memorable villain (the eponymous Tall man), decent characters (with the best being the king of one liners - Ice cream salesman, Reggie Bannister - as himsel), great settings ( a mausoleum) and enough gore to satisfy gore hounds).
