PMS Can Be A Devil

Advantages: Disturbing, chilling atmosphere
Disadvantages: Not all it's cracked up to be; terrible special effects, some laughable bits

...beginning to drastically differ from the sweet young girl she once was. When doctors examine Regan they find that she turns violent and screams profanities at them which she has never done before. Doctors decide that a physiatrist may be the best option for Regan, but when all else fails Regan’s Mother is forced to turn to the church… I wasn’t around when The Exorcist was first released back in 1973 but have heard numerous things about the film ...
...to watch the film but have always been hesitant due to all the harrowing things I’ve heard about it. The film has been named ‘The Scariest Film Of All Time’… fitting? I still don’t know. I have heard about people committing suicide after seeing the film but curiosity got the better of me and surely 36 years after it’s initial release the film wouldn’t be able to achieve the same shock factor would it? That I can’t effectively answer, after seeing ...

One unlucky day!

Advantages: Gloriously gory
Disadvantages: Rubbish acting, cheesy

Crystal Lake is a truly beautiful location, with an ugly past. Several years before, a young boy died at camp while his counsellors weren't keeping an eye on him. Since then at subsequent camps, there have been a number of deaths and strange occurences, encouraging everyone to keep away from the area. Then someone decides to start the camp up again and a group of counsellors arrive to prepare the site. Unfortunately, someone doesn't seem to want ...
...picked off and killed horribly. Will any of them survive? And what have they done to incur the wrath of the killer? Good acting is not something that most horror films are famous for, and this one is really no different. With the exception of a very young Kevin Bacon, none of the other actors are well known, and this is for a reason - they really aren't that good. The actress with most screen time is Adrienne King, who plays Alice. King is wooden ...

Valentine the Slasher?

Advantages: some pretty faces in the film
Disadvantages: poor acting, easy to guess who the killer is

...him at the high school Valentine Ball and being cruelly rejected by all of them bar one, Dorothy, who is slightly chubby (but this is USA slightly chubby means she’s seen by all as really fat), who goes under the stage and has a bit of a kissing session with him till some other kids see them and she claims he forced himself on her. The other mean kids pour some gunk all over him and you realise this is why the kid turns into a bit of a psycho! Fast ...
...to the house where the Valentine party is taking place and the victims are being killed off very rapidly but his attendance (or rather lack of it) is never evident. I just thought it was a bit weird to show the scene of him calling to say he was on his way and then… nothing! Can’t go into more detail about the climax obviously as I don’t want to spoil the ending of the film – although I guessed correctly pretty early on as to who the killer was. ...

Anyone want a mug of Kokumo?

Advantages: Possesion is 9 tenths of the law
Disadvantages: That's not really true :-(

...the best thing in an Exorcist film. This film basically has her in a rehab unit, recovering from the traumas of being possessed in the first film. A priest called Father Lamont (played brilliantly by Richard Burton) comes to interview her and try and find out what really happened to Father Merrin all those years ago. They use a contraption (a synchronizer??) to bring their minds together and travel through the mental cosmos to find out what really ...
...ex-wife Belinda was also in Exorcist II and Deliverance. Rating: 18 in the UK; R in the US Running Time: 118 minutes, although it does seem a good bit longer than that. Things I've learned from this film: 1. Peanuts can be used to imitate locusts if you're short of budget. 2. If you can't remember something, synchronize your brain with an alcoholic playing a priest, that'll remind you of things. 3. "If Pazuzu comes for you I will spit a leopard!" ...
