"I Can Have You When I Want!"
Advantages: A visual masterpiece Disadvantages: Overlong and slighly naff
...he accepted the Role in Terror at the Opera he was feeling quite ill and realised that something was seriously wrong. Charleson vowed to do something far removed from his previous work and was a big fan of Dario Argento so continued with the project. Shortly after filming he fell even more ill was diagnosed with Aids and died a slow and painful death at the hands of the disease in 1990. An award was named after him in 1991 and is awarded to the best ... ...lose the plot a bit. Terror at the Opera is a prime example of this; normally his films look a bit wooden because of the dubbing, this movie has wood written all over it. Even a talented actor in a lead role could not appear to be well guided. Visually the movie is a treat; fantastic scenery and sets. Long drawn out imaginative killings involving household items, and a continued feel of menace for the films entire length. For most of the film you ...

Attack Of The Killer Cock
Advantages: So bad its good Disadvantages: None
...Hypervixens" - the making of Pervert! - A very Russ Meyer approach to a behind the scenes look at the movie, it shows all the stars of the film in a very different light some of them come off as being incredibly intelligent, but as I already stated from its low level standards this is a movie thought out by incredibly intelligent souls. It also focuses on Russ Meyer as its inspiration plus a glimmer of hope on future issues.
Deleted scenes ... ...cut, a couple of them would have been welcome editions; but one could well have distorted the movies message.
Bloopers - Unusually the most serious element of the DVD, because the when the bloopers occur they are actually not that funny, the humour is only in the film itself.
Trailers and a photo gallery. - I'll never understand the purpose of photo galleries and the one big let down with this movie is that it fails to do anything ...

Nazi Zombies With A Taste For Female Flesh
Advantages: Different to other zombie movies. Nice scenery. Disadvantages: Bad dubbing, poor special effects
A foreign horror movie, Zombie Lake is a French/Spanish production which was filmed in France. The original language was French, but this DVD version has been dubbed into English.
The original French title for the movie was 'Le Lac de Mortes Vivante', which translates to 'The Lake Of The Living Dead'. As this suggests, as well as the English title 'Zombie Lake', this film is centered around a lake which is cursed, and is home to some blood-hungry ... ...They are not the worst zombie effects I've seen (that title goes to 'Zombie Nation'), but they are pretty poor. The make-up literally amounts to green and red paint slapped onto the hands and faces of the Nazi zombies, with the odd bit of rubber flapping about to simulate tears in the skin, etc. As with most 1980's horror films, the acting is also not of the best calibre. No Oscar nominations for these guys. However, this is to be expected with a ...

The original and best version!
Advantages: Good zombie movie with interesting ideas Disadvantages: Shows its age
This is a decent film in it's own right & stands up well against the other Romero films too. It's quite good start to the film with the fake scare before the opening credits have even rolled & a group of civilians with 1 soldier looking for survivors in what seems to be a ghost town but is full of the living dead. With the return back to the compound you see the civilians are in the minority in an underground military bunker where research is being ... ...There is definitely a big divide between the military & the civilians & quite a lot of animosity and frayed nerves of those living on the edge. Despite it's age this film still looks good, the effects stand up to close scrutiny. The script & acting aren't fantastic, the people playing the soldiers all over-act like crazy playing their characters to the extreme. The scares are still good but not much more. Captain Rhodes is insane with power & his ...

Zombie Heaven, Shopping Hell
Advantages: Probably one of the best zombie films ever made. Disadvantages: Occasional lapses in acting but I say 'embrace them and rejoice'.
...eat you.
Dawn of the Dead is always going to hold a special place in my heart, and not just because it keeps things in perspective for me when the entire human race seems intent on throwing themselves into my path and lingering there with intent. I first saw it when I was a kid and it's been in my conciousness ever since. It's the winning combination of eerily cheerful music, black humour, sharp social commentary, and the best collection of individualistic ... ...opinion will always criticise this film for its grainy amateur appearance and cast, but I am of the opinion that this is part of what makes this film so special, part of why it can get under your skin and linger in the memory so long. In a sea of recent CGI-riddled horror productions that are here today, forgotten tommorow, a film that has clearly been lovingly hand-crafted has shambled through the test of time and eaten the competition. Priceless. ...
