A decent sequel Advantages: Innovative and good script Disadvantages: none When Scream was released in 1996, I was very impressed by the satirical and self-referential style of the film. However I was sceptical when the sequel, Scream 2 was released in 1997, as I thought it was straining the idea to make additional films. Scream 2 follows on two years after the events in Scream and sees Sidney (Neve Campbell) and Randy (Jamie Kennedy) trying to lead a normal life after their traumatic experiences in Woodsboro. I hunger for a better movie Advantages: None at all, well maybe the awesome scenery Disadvantages: Pretty much every second of the movie Guy Pearce & Robert Carlisle appearing in possibly the worst film both or either of them have ever been in. An army officer who has been involved in a big battle which was a blood bath is proclaimed a hero but then mysteriously sent off to a tiny fort where he can't get into trouble. He doesn't eat meat and is haunted by bad dreams and some very troubling images. Sounds interesting eh? Yeah, I thought so too but they do manage to f*ck it up so read ... ...a man who claims he has trekked through miles of snow to escape from a maniac who was eating a traveling party. Right away alarm bells should be ringing, especially when they go to try and find the rest of the party. Unsurprisingly it turns out he has eaten them & has been driven insane by the hunger for flesh. And this hunger is infectious. Pike isn't a name, its a fish! Advantages: Feel-good and light hearted. Disadvantages: Not for the hardcore TV series fans. Okay, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie is definately not for everyone. If you're a fan of the series & love Sarah Michelle Gellar as the vampire-slaying, butt-kicking Buffy, then this is probably not your cup of tea. The Buffy TV series is a whole lot more gothic, more serious, and has a rockier soundtrack. The movie on the other hand is pretty light hearted, and girly. In a word, i'd say this movie is cheesy. But that doesn't mean its bad. If ... ...people would probably say they prefer the series. Its just a case of taste, really. The movie seems more of a late 80's film, what with the fashion and soundtrack. The whole thing is not taken too seriously, and a lot of the vampires are pretty slapstick. Scream... it broke all the rules. Advantages: Unpredictable. Good performances. Witty Disadvantages: can be gory in parts Scream (1996) was the one that broke all the rules and revitalized how the audience viewed horror/slasher movies as Kevin Williamson's screenplay and Wes Craven's direction found, and used, the satire in the genre. Throughout the film there are a lot of 'red herrings' to throw the audience of track which makes it interesting rather that the usual predictability of this type of film. Some of the characters included: Casey Becker - (Drew Barrymore): ... ...credits of the film by the killer wearing a white mask, the killed is then known as ghostface.
