Saw Trilogy Review
Review of Saw Trilogy - Saw - Uncut/Saw 2/Saw 3 - Extreme Edition (Box Set) by
United2008
Advantages: Great price, 3 great movies, Gore fans will love it!
Disadvantages: None- I loved it.
...these are must see movies. Saw trilogy remarkably reworks the horror genre by adding a plot that is genuinely unique and keeps you guessing until the very end. There is no holding back when it comes to scene sheer violence and terror on screen as wrong doers are tortured.
The strange part is that the killer in the movies does not think he is a killer, he believes that he is helping the victims. The people he tortures have all done something wrong ... ...to play a terrifying game to realise there errors and live better lives. The trap/death scenes are unique in each movie and will live you hiding behind your sofa. It's a must watch to see these scenes alone.
A great addition for any gore fan. "Do you want to play a game?" ...

Of al da plaints they choose ours and their hungry
Review of Critters (Wide Screen) by
D03114380
Advantages: a mix of sci-fi, horror and dark comedy
Disadvantages: 1980s SPX and plot line is a little lacking
...first in the series of critters (4 movies of critters in total) with a cult follow and arguably the best of all 4.
Starts out with the prison asteroid maximum security transport carrying a payload of Critons or Critters which are to put onto another ship.
They just happen to escape get into a ship and head off straight to earth. The bounty track them down to town called Grovers Bend and try to kill the murderous critters. Most of the action is ... ...film boring.
The film is from the 1980 so uses reverse frames and other crony SPX the cars and clothing out dated which does detract me from fully immersing myself in the film.
Over all this film is great for people that are into Sci-fi films from the 1980s, with a bit of horror mixed in for good measure.
Has a mix of sci-fi, horror, killing and a bit of dark comedy
I have to say that the extra for the DVD are very poor though. The extras are ...

You Never Know Where It's Going
Review of May DVD by
sghawken
Advantages: Unusual twisting tale
Disadvantages: The end is only the beginning.
May (Angela Bettis; Toolbox Murders, Sick Girl) had a sad upbringing, an eye patch (due to her having an incredibly lazy eye) over her right eye made her look like a pirate, segregating her from other kids. As an adult hope for her future finally arrives in the form of contact lenses. No sooner are the contact lenses installed than May is looking to begin her new life. May sets her sights on an unusual Dario Argento fan called Adam (Jeremy Sisto; ... ...But surely nobodies perfect?
May starts like a quirky twisted romantic comedy; she stumbles about clumsily trying to win her man. She is so cringe worthy you can literally feel your skin crawl; her conversational skills need a lot to be desired, and she has a very one dimensional view of the world. All this aside you cant help but feel sorry for May, all she wants is a normal loving and caring life, but if you have never experienced love and affection ...

How not to carry out a kidnapping...
Review of The Cottage DVD by
sunmeilan
Advantages: Funny, gory
Disadvantages: Some won't like the swearing and the gore
...David and Peter kidnap Tracey, the step-daughter of a powerful villain, they think that their fortunes are made. Unfortunately, nothing quite goes to plan. Tracey's step-brother, Andrew, who is part of the plot, is supposed to deliver the ransom money, but doesn't check the bag and it turns out to be tissue paper. And Tracey is not going to be held without a fight. When David goes out to make a phone call, he returns to find that Tracey has run off, ... ...Peter's brother, he is definitely the more street-wise of the two; in fact, it is him who has bullied Peter into helping with the kidnap. David is a bit of a hard case - he looks like he walked straight out of Eastenders - and struggles to come to terms with other people's stupidity. It is this that brings a lot of humour to the film - his gradual realisation that they are all doomed is funny to watch. He works brilliantly with Reece Shearsmith, ...
