Buffy gets off to a slow start....
Review of Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Series 1 - Complete DVD by Andrews1990

Advantages: The scoobies friendship os a highlight. The 90's charm
Disadvantages: Looks a bit cheap, has some awful episodes...

Originally I owned Buffy seasons 2-7 in the bible packaging that they used before this cheaper one, however, since the Season one DVD in the older packaging was made quite some time ago, it was hard to find one in good condition (being a product perfectionist) so I decided to buy this packaging instead, they've done quite a good job with it too, it could have been horrendous, but it all blends well due to great colours. I suppose the plastic flippy ...
...all a bit insane. But Buffy dragging a metal clawed vampire out of the sewers so he can give directions to the mantis' house is quite amusing.... The Puppet Show: Yes, another insane on in which a human is resurrected as a carnival puppet in order to get revenge on the 9 demons who killed him......Cough, cough. Its not all bad though, the scene with the demon locking Giles in on of those head chopper offers is actually quite tense. Nightmares: ... Read review

A film without a storyline!
Review of Final Destination 3 DVD by princesstasha

Advantages: Easy to follow...
Disadvantages: Just dull to watch

...it just becomes well, laborious. Final destination 3 has no twist in it whatsoever, we just see more of the same old stuff...and all films need some sort of revelation to them...even sequels. In my opinion, the film should have stopped at final destination two, just enough to let us know that death was still "stalking" people. But no...the producers decide to make yet another film based on the never ending story line...There's only so many freak ...
...player from utter boredem! Regrettably, i ended up paying £20 for the DVD, in the hope that it would be as good as the original...I probably should have asked for a refund...Especially after the "choose their fate" option! It is quite possibly one of the most ridiculous features i have ever seen on a DVD. Basically, it says you can choose the characters fate. So, at the start screen you click "choose their fate". Little did i know that this would ... Read review

The Strangers
Review of The Strangers DVD by danmclovin

Advantages: Scary, with suspense a plenty!
Disadvantages: Somewhat disappointing ending, could have been better!

The Strangers is a movie by debut director Bryan Bertino, and has been released this year. Starring Liv Tyler (Armageddon, The Lord of the Rings) and Scott Speedman (Underworld, XXX), the movie is a violent thriller, which is supposedly inspired by true events, and has a UK 15 certificate rating. A couple, Kirsten McKay (Liv Tyler) and James Hoyt (Scott Speedman), return from a wedding reception to the secluded Hoyt's family home, both upset from ...
...the couple sit down to discuss the row, they are both startled to hear a knock on the front door, in the early hours of the morning. As they open the door, a strange woman stands in the doorway, asking for a person, whom the couple have never heard of. They explain that the person doesn't live there, and the woman wanders off into the dark. Confused and a little startled, James sets off to get a pack of cigarettes for Kirsten. Whilst James is away, ... Read review

More Of The Same
Review of The Strangers DVD by sghawken

Advantages: Some good suspense build up
Disadvantages: Too much like to mant better movies

...is nothing more terrifying than the horrors of real life, and while we slowly learn of the terrible mystery behind the Foster family killed in a murder and subsequent blaze (at the time of writing), we are reminded more than ever that this is true. This is just the sort of thing that The Strangers writer/director Bryan Bertino plays on with this movie, announcing at the beginning that The Strangers is based on true events, the truth behind them nobody ...
...McKay (Liv Tyler) return to the Hoyt family home where prior to the day's events he had planned a special romantic night. Something however has gone wrong, and all his best efforts which include rose petals on the bed, and in the bathtub; have been wasted. There is extreme tension between the two, and it's blatantly obvious that rather than being a night to cement a relationship, it's a night that would see one end. In the tension a girl calls by ... Not so big Beowulf
Review of Beowulf DVD by Malteazer89

Advantages: Great CGI
Disadvantages: A little ordinary and lifeless

...so the story begins. Beowulf (Ray Winstone) answers the kings call to save his country, and his people, from more death and despare. As you most likely predicted he triumphs over evil and kills Grendel in a flurry of not so impressive moves seeing as it was created by the CGI technique. You would think the film would end there right? Wrong there is more to the tale. With its twisting and winding paths of the main character, I have to say I began ...
...what would happen next for me. I think there was one point in the film that I was mildly surprised at what was happening but appart from that it had a slight yawn factor. I did like how Brendan Gleeson, whom played Wiglaf, kept his lovely traditional Irish accent through out the film, as did Winstone and Hopkins. However the rest of the cast seemed determined to try and sound like they were from Denmark....for me it just sounded like that had mixed ... Read review
