"I Can Have You When I Want!"
Advantages: A visual masterpiece Disadvantages: Overlong and slighly naff
...he accepted the Role in Terror at the Opera he was feeling quite ill and realised that something was seriously wrong. Charleson vowed to do something far removed from his previous work and was a big fan of Dario Argento so continued with the project. Shortly after filming he fell even more ill was diagnosed with Aids and died a slow and painful death at the hands of the disease in 1990. An award was named after him in 1991 and is awarded to the best ... ...lose the plot a bit. Terror at the Opera is a prime example of this; normally his films look a bit wooden because of the dubbing, this movie has wood written all over it. Even a talented actor in a lead role could not appear to be well guided. Visually the movie is a treat; fantastic scenery and sets. Long drawn out imaginative killings involving household items, and a continued feel of menace for the films entire length. For most of the film you ...

A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 - Freddy's got an opponent
Advantages: Storyline evolved Disadvantages: Fredd remained cringeworthy
***Why did I watch A Nightmare on Elm Street Number 4: The Dream Master*** I watched this film for pretty much the same reasons I normally do. I love horror films and try to watch them as soon as they come out. With the Nightmare on Elm Street films I especially loved part 1, part 2 I would rather have forget about and part 3 did an a excellent job of providing a film as good as part 1. ***The cast*** Tuesday Knight as Kristen Ken Sagoes as Kincaid ... ...have settled into to living a normal life. Kristin remains the focus at the start of the film, along with her new boyfriend Rick and best friends Alice (Ricks sister), Sheila & Debbie. The films kicks off with Kristin’s nightmares returning as she is convinced Freddy is still alive, using the power to drag people into her dreams she upsets Kincaid and Joey when she abruptly calls for their help. The next day the trio are confused why Kristin’s dreams ...

Not the ideal Christmas present for your kids.
Advantages: Great horror with a few good laughs Disadvantages: Can get a little to silly in parts
...film used a seemingly innocent child's toy as a sadistic unstoppable killing machine.
**BRIEF PLOT**
When detective Mike Norris, (played by Chris Sarandon) pursues and corners Charles Lee Ray, {aka 'Chucky'}, the evil "Lakeshore Strangler," (played by Brad Dourif), Ray unleashes more than he can handle as before he dies he uses an ancient voodoo ritual to transport his soul into a nearby child's toy 'Good Guy Doll'.
Meanwhile, a young boy named ... ...maniac being a funny looking child's toy.
'Chucky', as the doll likes to be called, turns out to be a dab hand with a hammer and a hunting knife whilst still looking like a little lovable cuddly toy. Although not something you'd want in your home, especially near the kitchen knives.
It is another movie of good verses bad, cops verses robbers, but with a bit of a difference as the 'bad' 'robber' is something out of the ordinary, in fact, totally ...

"I’ll camp until I die.”
Advantages: Fun, Down to earth Disadvantages: Some weak acting
Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers (1988)
Well, if it's going to go on the site twice and it didn't get the number of reads it deserved the first time, I'm gonna have my say again. Also known by it's British title, Nightmare Vacation 2, this is essentially a rip off of Friday the 13th and any number of its sequels and other rip offs. Considering Friday the 13th is itself just a cash in on the Halloween phenomena then you’ll understand why Sleepaway ... ...the recent revival of the Sleepaway Camp series. The original was made in 1983, a more serious film (if that’s possible) setting up the back story I’ve already covered. Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland (1989) was more of the same as number 2. Now part 4 (2002) and part 5 (2005) have come out, neither of which I’ve seen. Could it be possible that the series will go on to challenge the long running status of it’s illegitimate fathers Halloween and ...

Low Budget ‘Slasher’ Film fights Mediocrity
Advantages: Good central story with well played bad guy. Disadvantages: Low production values, story drags, weak dialogue.
MANIAC COP (1988)
Tagline: “You have the right to remain silent. Forever.”
A series of horrific murders have occurred on the streets of New York. They appear related. Witnesses identify the killer as wearing a police officer’s uniform. Officer Jack Forrest (Bruce Campbell) suddenly becomes the prime suspect with even his wife doubting him. With the help of love interest Theresa Mallory (Laurene Landon) and detective Frank McCrae (Tom Atkins) he ... ...is Robert Z’Dar as the maniac cop that steals the show. His strong physical presence combined with the image of the starched, authoritarian police uniform creates a very foreboding character. The very idea of fearing police officers late at night leaves a lasting impression.
Larry Cohen’s (Phone Booth and a multitude of trashy low budget horror flicks) script does contain a strong central premise, which slowly reveals itself throughout the film. ...
