Classic werewolf film
Advantages: Story and special effects Disadvantages: none
The John Landis film, An American Werewolf in London, is an iconic film that has achieved cult status over the years.
This film is about two American college students, David Kessler and Jack Goodman, who whilst backpacking in England, encounter a werewolf who vicious attacks them, killing Jack but it is killed before David is killed as well. David wakes up in a hospital in London but starts to suffer terrible nightmares of his dead friend Jack, ... ...Sergeant McManus
This is an excellent film that has a brilliant story. The story is quite simple but features some great dialogue and quirky special effects. The cast is not exactly full of big stars but John Landis, who wrote and directed this film has managed to get some brilliant performances from the cast. The transformation of David into the werewolf is quite impressive and well done. The scene at the start of the film is very eerie and very ...

He's Behind You... Again!
Advantages: Funny, scary at times, tension Disadvantages: Lacks the atmosphere the first film had, unintetionally funny, becomes a bit silly
...crazed Michael Myers did on Halloween of 1978, after trying to kill teenager Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) he seemingly met his end after being shot by his doctor (Donald Pleasance).
However when Michael is nowhere to be seen it would seem that Halloween is far from over for Laurie and Doctor Loomis. Laurie is rushed to hospital after her ordeal with Michael whilst Doctor Loomis continues on in his hunt for Michael before more people are made ... ...her at the hospital…
Halloween II is a direct sequel to 1978’s Halloween. Halloween II was released in 1981 but was set on the same night back in 1978 straight after Michael is shot. You’d think that three years on there might be some continuity issues but it seemed to me as though Rick Rosenthal had got everything right in this film, even it’s star Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t look as though she’d aged more than a day. If you’re planning on watching ...

Nazi Zombies With A Taste For Female Flesh
Advantages: Different to other zombie movies. Nice scenery. Disadvantages: Bad dubbing, poor special effects
A foreign horror movie, Zombie Lake is a French/Spanish production which was filmed in France. The original language was French, but this DVD version has been dubbed into English.
The original French title for the movie was 'Le Lac de Mortes Vivante', which translates to 'The Lake Of The Living Dead'. As this suggests, as well as the English title 'Zombie Lake', this film is centered around a lake which is cursed, and is home to some blood-hungry ... ...They are not the worst zombie effects I've seen (that title goes to 'Zombie Nation'), but they are pretty poor. The make-up literally amounts to green and red paint slapped onto the hands and faces of the Nazi zombies, with the odd bit of rubber flapping about to simulate tears in the skin, etc. As with most 1980's horror films, the acting is also not of the best calibre. No Oscar nominations for these guys. However, this is to be expected with a ...

Their Thoughts Can Kill
Advantages: Classic Cronenberg horror Disadvantages: No special features, can be confusing
Scanners is an unusual movie from the now acclaimed director David Cronenberg. Before Cronenberg hit the mainstream his focus was always on horror, shining examples being Shivers and Rabid, both shot in and around Toronto and Montreal, places he considered home. On his first rise of power in the directorial stakes came Scanners, a significantly different horror movie, that seemed dated even from its release. Cameron Vale (Stephen Lack) is effectively ... ...so collecting an army of Scanners to do his bidding and get revenge on those who created them.
Scientist Dr. Paul Ruth (Patrick McGoohan) has been desperately trying to get to the bottom of Revock's power over other Scanners, and now with Cameron in his care he seeks the opportunity to send him out as a spy and end Revock's rule once and for all.
Despite the movie hailing from the very early 1980's there is little to prevent this looking like a ...

omen 3...the final conflict
Advantages: great fear factor Disadvantages: a little bit too much religion
...instalment in the series of Omen movies goes deeper into the complex world of religion and the fight between good and evil, depicting the rise of Damien, and his ever increasing followers, together with Damien's plan to become the President of the United States and his ultimate plan….Armageddon.
There are many scenes of death and destruction which are, again, almost tastefully filmed as realism is paramount.
There are a few scenes which are disturbing ... ...Unusually, (unlike many sequels-sequels), Omen 3 is probably as good as the other 2 Omen movies, relying on the original ideas of filming as close to realism as possible.
The idea of one man being the descendent of the devil still giving the Omen films there special fear factor rating. If you have not watched the first two Omen films then watching this one will be entertaining but will totally confuse you regarding the characters and the entire ...
