33 years old but terrifying

Advantages: will genuinely terrify; good plot; a cut above most horror films
Disadvantages: the extras were not as good as the film itself

I bought this just around the holiday season last year because the 2006 remake was out at the time and after many bad experiences watching remakes of classic 1970s/80s horror films, I was not eager to go through another. Tipped as "the original stalk and slash movie," whilst watching this film you can see where the inspiration for 'Scream' and 'When a stranger calls' in particular came from. However, the fact that this has a consistent festive theme ...
...in turn ultimately gives 'Black Christmas' a more eerie and uneasy edge over its successors. I was a bit skeptical at first because most horror films today follow the 'stalk and slash' format but I was extremely surprised. Considering this film is over 30 years old, it really creeped me out and I felt quite uneasy watching it, which is a rarity for a horror film fanatic like me. The acting may not be academy award winning (though Margot 'Lois Lane' ...

The wi ZARD of OZ.

Advantages: An unusual film
Disadvantages: Can be a bit too weird.

Zardoz. ********* A 70's Sci-Fi film that over the years has become something of a classic. The movie opens with a disembodied head floating around and setting the premise for the forth coming movie. Set in a post apocalyptic society that has a 'Vortex, around itself to keep the savages and 'Riff Raff' out. It is a utopia society where no one questions "reality" or the authorities and everything just plods on in a melancholy way. Enter Sean Connery, ...
...character who turns the colony on its head and soon faces retribution by the authorities. He entered through the Vortex via a flying stone head sent by the 'Eternals' who are Immortal. The society is ruled over by 'Eternals' who have become bored with a life of the same old same and are sick of things remaining as they are. The females initially consider him a brute but soon are attracted to him. And he to them which is not surprising as they all ...

It all begins again.

Advantages: First Tom Baker story.
Disadvantages: Robot a bit dodgy, but it was 1974.

...2nd most important date in Doctor Who history. It was the televised debut of THE Doctor, played by Tom Baker. Following his regeneration, the Doctor has to assist UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce), and their enigmatic and old friend, Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge Stewart in helping to solve some mysterious robberies. All these robberies involve the theft of parts to build the ultimate weapon, a disintegrator gun. The robberies are a mystery, ...
...are perpertrated by a Giant Robot. The Robot was built as a peaceful machine and as it wages a campaign of theft and also murder, it begins to go mad, as the Robot was built with a Prime Directive, not to hurt anyone. Its creator Professor Kettlewell appears to be an innocent victim of the Scientific Reform Society, who are using the Robot to acheve their aims. The destruction of the World and the creation of a 'newer, better World'. The only weakness ...

A Chilling Classic Reminding You That Anything Can Happen...

Advantages: Colours are richer and crisper, the music is truely UNIQUE!
Disadvantages: storyline is basic but typical of that era, movie is short lived

Wow!! The movie has been brought back to life in much clearer picture detail to tell the tale of 5 teenagers in an accidental situation of desperate survial against a cannibalistic family with a chainsaw weilding maniac in the deep south of rural Texas. (The storyline is simple, dead simple, which makes it much more realistic and easy to follow) HOT HOT HOT!- the uncomfortable heat and drieness of the Texas setting compliments the theme of desperate ...
...Burns) desperatly tries to evade the freaky chainsaw weilding psycho under the moonlight, is a horrific scene that will most certainly leave you stunned in your seats as she screams histerically through the woods with her iconic white flares glowing in the moonlight supressing her desperate attempts to hide... The rich colours of the classic film are something to be pleased about, the deep blacks, warm oranges and azur blues are very impressive ...
