2 out of 3 ain't bad

Advantages: A Bucket of Blood and House on Haunted Hill
Disadvantages: The Ghoul

A Bucket of Blood is one of my favourite classics. An enjoyable 'Wax Museum' genre that takes a slightly different approach. This time, the artist is actually very slow witted and has no talent, as you will see. He works at a coffee shop full of poets and art buffs and wants so desperately to join their world. So, one thing leads to another, and, if your familiar with the genre, you know how it goes. House on Haunted Hill is one of the great classics ...
...horror or is it murder-mystery. To answer that question, i would have to spoil it. So, watch and find out for yourself, you won't be dissappointed. Unfortunately, The Ghoul is probably one of Karloff's worst. Karloff is one of my favourites, but he doesn't really act in this one. The story is very slow, and doesn't build up to anything all that shocking. Just some ancient Egyptian Mummy curse, some rich guy trying to be immortal. Nothing I haven't ...

Great collection of Roger Corman films

Advantages: 3 great films for a budget price
Disadvantages: Picture quality not too good

The films on the 3 discs are a selection of Roger Corman productions between 1960 and 1963. Little Shop Of Horrors from 1960 is first up.A young Jack Nicholson makes an early screen appearence. A dimwitted florists assistant discovers a mutant plant that can talk and must feed on blood to survive. The Terror from 1963 stars Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson (again).Nicholson follows an apparition to a castle where he finds Karloff and discovers ...
...the directorial debut of Francis Ford Coppola.Family member are being bumped off by an axe murderer. Are the murders linked to the daughters death years ago? The three films are all entertaining and the packaging is nice but it would have been better if the films remastered.Overall though its good value for money. ...

Putting The Meat In Art

Advantages: Hysterically funny
Disadvantages: No chapter marks

...than anything though I love a good horror; from time to time how ever the genre becomes tired and a bad horror is often quite acceptable. Bucket Of Blood is one of those movies that's so bad its good; its nonsense, bobbins in fact but it really brightens my day. Walter cleans tables in the Yellow Door Coffee House, the Yellow Door is where all the cool cats hang out, cool cats that say cool things like "wowser" and "you're the cats meooooow". No ...
...talented and sets about making a name for himself in his art. From sculptures of cats to sculptures of people over night Walter becomes the hippest thing around. Trouble being its not Walters art that's wrong its what goes into them. Made in glorious black and white Roger Corman's Bucket Of Blood is one of his better movies. Yes it is naff, but it's got a really jolly side to it too, if you have had the mis-fortune of seeing any other Corman movies ...

Beatniks, Blood, AND Big Lizards!

Advantages: Hilarious and, in 'Bucket of Blood', often even witty at times
Disadvantages: None really, if the films are taken in the spirit intended

...is an obscure hobo bumming a ride on the omnibus of Art...' So begins the Roger Corman film 'Bucket of Blood', in the sage words of the big burly bearded beatnik poet reciting on the stage of the hep-cat cafe where Walter Paisley works as a waiter. Walter is a shy, nerdy little guy who longs to be uber-cool like the patrons of the cafe. He tries to emulate the 'cosmic' poetry of his idols, quoting it to customers as he serves them, and is asked by ...
...his grotty room, eagerly unpacks a large parcel of clay and begins working it, hoping to fashion it into a likeness of Carla, a particularly cool girl at the cafe whom he admires. But he becomes distracted and annoyed by the insistent meowing of his landlady's cat, which has somehow got itself trapped within a wall of his room, and inadvertently kills it while attempting to rescue it. Scared of having his landlady find out he killed her cat, he decides ...

Death Note Movie Version (DVD)

Advantages: totally worth to collect
Disadvantages: if you not a DN fan or movie freak, then you will not really interested in it

Death Note (デスノート, Desu NÅto?) is a series of two live-action Japanese films released in 2006 and based on the Death Note manga and anime series by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The films primarily center on a university student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it. The two films were directed by ShÅ«suke Kaneko, produced by Nippon Television, and distributed ...
...as the "Death Note". The Death Note's instructions claim that if a person's name is written within it while picturing that person's face, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, he realizes that the Death Note is real. Soon he is visited by the Note's original owner, a shinigami named Ryuk. After that meeting, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his ...
