Ring trilogy-brilliant!

Advantages: Very scary! Well directed and executed
Disadvantages: Can seem a bit slow

These are some of the scariest films I have ever seen! I have seen the original Japanese versions and thought that these American remakes were amazing films in their own right. Deaths are occuring 7 days after watching a certain video but you never really see anyone get killed so the suspense and mystery are high which makes the films scarier. It plays on your imagination and builds up suspense very well for an american horror film. Some could say ...
...that this builds up the suspense even more and makes it much scarier! I think these films are well directed and executed and would reccommend anyone who hasnt seen them to buy this box set. Even though it is rated a 15, viewers older than this will be scared! ...

Dracula Lives

Advantages: excellent animation, good scripts, cracking soundtrack
Disadvantages: English dub could be better, compression rate not optimal

...this world. Here, Hellsing (aka van Helsing) has indeed tracked Dracula back to his castle and lands. There, he indeed kills Dracula's servants and various minions, including Mina. He informs Dracula of this as he plunges a stake through his heart as Dracula gasps in disbelief, "I lost?" Humbled by his own powerful being losing to such a foe, he swears fealty to the Hellsing family, and rather than having his head cut off to finish the killing job, ...
...vampire of all? And so, Hellsing founds the Hellsing Organisation, a civilian outfit which in reality is a Protestant Order of Holy Knights shrouded in the utmost of secrecy and answering pretty much only to royalty. Fiercely devoted to their sworn duty of serving the royal house and all of Britain by destroying vampires, they are an almost anachronistic organisation in the 21st century. Modern weaponry aplenty abounds, but duty, honour, and a fierce ...

Angel battles his inner demon

Advantages: Lots more familiar characters from the Buffy universe
Disadvantages: Some of the special features are tedious

Plot In season 2 Angel moves away from its Buffy origins and concentrates more on what makes Angel himself interesting - the fact that he's a vampire with a soul and is, therefore, constantly battling his inner demon and struggling for redemption. Given the destruction of their original office building at the end of season 1, the team (Angel, Wesley and Cordelia) move into the abandoned Hyperion hotel, which gives them much more room for ...
...before. The team at Angel Investigations are joined by Charles Gunn, a tough street kid with a history of fighting vampires and once again are battling evil wherever they find it and the 'Big Bad' - the lawyers for the supernaturally challenged, Wolfram and Hart, who bring Darla (the gal who vamped Angel) back from the dead to turn him bad. Another new character is the green singing demon, Lorne, who comes in handy when the whole team is transported ...

Buffy has Potential

Advantages: Great episodes, great plot arc
Disadvantages: The Potentials!

After seven years, Buffy the Vampire Slayer finally came to an end in 2003 with its seventh season. Well - on the television anyway - hardcore fans will know that season eight is currently being released in comic book form! But that's not what I'm reviewing here - that honour goes to the final televised season of Buffy. With such a long and successful series, you'd expect it to go out with a bang - and that's what it does, in a big way. Many of ...
...After her depression last season, Buffy seems a lot happier - at the start of the season anyway. Spike spends a lot of his time going a little bit crazy from his new soul, and for another reason... Anya must deal with the ramifications of returning to her vengeful ways and Willow has to try and get past the darkness she found in season six. Xander and Dawn are rather superfluous in season seven, but they're pretty much a constant in all episodes. ...

Becoming Buffy

Advantages: Great characters, an excellent story arc, fantastic season finale
Disadvantages: A couple of bad episodes

Buffy the Vampire Slayer really found its feet in season two. It progressed from being a monster of the week show, to a show with a serious storyline, character and plot arcs. I don't want to repeat the general information I put into my review of season one, so I'll just jump straight into reviewing the characters and episodes. ...out of her shell, and Buffy grows up a lot as she deals with the hand life has dealt her. There are some wonderful new characters in this season, amongst them the infamous Spike. The bleach blonde vampire is played by James Marsters with aplomb and despite the slightly dodgy English accent is a fantastic character. Accompanying Spike is the insane Drusilla; another English character played by an American - in this case Juliet Landau. Spike and Dru ...
