Once More With Feeling- love it!!! Advantages: funny, musical, good for anyone even if not buffy fan, brilliant acting Disadvantages: slightly cheesy ...when watching this episode of buffy is that it is FANTASTIC! Everything works so well together. The comedy, the music, the fighting. Brilliant. I will admit that i am biased as an addicted Scooby but i feel that anyone who hasnt been won over by the Buffy series before, this will definetly hit you with the buffy bug. Friends and Enemies Advantages: Good continuation, character development. Disadvantages: Few extras, appeals mostly to girls. ...volume continues the story of Vampire Princes Miyu, dedicated hunter and returner to the darkness of demons, or "Shinma" with the help of her protector Larva and her companion Shiina, an ugly rabbit like Shinma with one huge yellow bloodshot eye that, thankfully, is obscured by it's floppy bunny ear for most of the time. (It does actually serve a purpose, allowing Shiina to see long distance or through deception, but still looks horrible!) Fun in Transylvania Advantages: Wonderful fairytale "Transylvania", great monsters, especially the vampire ladies Disadvantages: Weak plot, awful one-liners and James Bond references ...of Gothic grandeur (the vampire ball) and lot of awful on-liners and James Bond references (I hate Bond!). Human characters are not much - Van Helsing is somewhere between sympathetic nerdy sidekick Carl and unsympathetic strrrong woman Anna (who has awful James Bond villain accent). Back to the darkness... Advantages: Interesting story, character development. Disadvantages: Wooden dub, not enough DVD extras. Vampire Princess Miyu may sound like some long lost relation to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but that's where the similarities begin and end. Miyu was born to become an immortal vampire "shinma" hunter, shinma being demons that delight in the torture and death of humans. With the help of her protector, Larva (a mysterious caped man in the sort of mask that wouldn't look out of place on a Little Apple doll), Miyu hunts down these stray shinma and returns ... ...that the culprit was a vampire - courtesy of two puncture marks in the girl's neck. Nerdy classmate Machiyama found the body and witnessed a girl (Miyu) running from the scene, so when she turns up as a new student the next day Machiyama becomes determined to prove her guilt. Nosferatu Advantages: The first vampire movie Disadvantages: not so special second disc ...disc one remastered print of Nosferatu has very sharp nice image quality considering this movie is over 70 years old. This movie has been colour tinted a reddish colour. Audio is in 5.1 surround, it appropriately fits in well with what's going on and is never overbearing. Also on the disc are two featurettes, one entitled NOSFRATOUR which consist of a tour of some of the original shooting locations. The other consists of conceptual and promotional ... ...full of interesting information, but I did feel at times the person speaking dug too deeply into things. Disc two contains nothing but an older un-re-mastered dirty scratchy version of the same movie with half the scenes missing.
