Battle of the Vampires - 1992 vs 1931!

Advantages: Great cast, lavish sets, amazing special effects

Grant UK rating – 18 I have been watching a lot of Dracula based films lately – Dracula (1931) with the wonderful Bela Lugosi, Dracula’s Daughter (1936), House of Dracula (1945) and the 1970ss Hammer Horror film Dracula A. ...
...Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994) and Bram Stoker’s Dracula from 1992. I got it for £4.20, which I was very pleased about. The first film I watched was Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the cast consists of many high profile actors, real top names of the movie industry – Gary Oldman, Anthony Hopkins, Winona Ryder, Keanu Reeves, Richard E. Grant, Sadie Frost and Cary Elwes. Wow! It was obviously a huge budget blockbuster and ...

Scary Movie: Funniest spoof movie out there.

Advantages: Very funny
Disadvantages: Bit crude at parts and some parts may drag on abit.

...have a laugh. The chosen scary movies they used were classics such as the 'exorcist' and most people well have seen or at least know about them. The storyline isn't great but as i said it is not a movie to be taken seriously at all. Unfortunatly you defiantly cannot go back and watch the scary movies, involved in the parody, and take them seriously. You will relate any famous scenes to the ones een in the movie so beware watch the scary movies before ...

A suprisingly good horror/action flick

Advantages: great aestheitic, good action scenes, good music
Disadvantages: unremarkable performances, formulaic plot

...light horror edge. The original blade is itself pretty throwaway, but largely manages to redeem itself with lots of excellent comic-book violence and some suprisingly decent special effects. Vampire-killer Blade (Wesley Snipes) is in fact based upon an existing comic book character, and the plot is typical comic book-fare, whereby the existing heirarchy of vampires (who live alongside humans and regularly feed upon them) is disrupted by a young upstart ...
...Naturally, it is up to Blade to stop him, slaughtering as many of his henchmen as he can in the process. The film mixes medival aesthetics with modern-day ones, whereby vampire bodyguards in leather jackets and weilding submachineguns and swords guard secret laboratories and underground raves. Indeed, the film opens at just such a rave, in which blood rains down from the sprinklers above to the sound of pumping dance/techno music. The plot is thin ...

Advantages: If you like a little bit of gore than this is for you!
Disadvantages: Not Gorey enough! The 2nd & 3rd film were not as strong as the 1st!
