Peter Pan- the story

All boy's grow up… except one. Peter Pan!

When any little boy's flee from their pram and leave the company of their nanny, there is only one place for them to go, second star on the right and straight on till morning, that's when they will reach, Never Never land.

Never Never land is a far off place, run by gangs of boys (no girls as they are far to clever to then to flee their prams and leave their nanny's side).
The only grown ups are pirates, who are constantly searching to find the Lost boy's hideout, and the captain of the pirates, Captain Hook, wants nothing more then to find and kill the leader of the Lost Boys Peter Pan.

Peter Pan was brought to Never Never land by Tinker bell. She is a fairy who he meet in London, she sprinkled some fairy dust on him and brought him back to Never Never land where he learned how to fly and fight the pirates. He vowed he would never grow up and would stay with the Lost Boys forever living in Never Never land and being a boy for all his days.

Peter would fly back to London occasionally and when he did he liked to sit out side the bedroom window of the Darlings house where he would listen to Wendy Darling tell story's to her brothers in the nursery. He would listen to the story's un noticed and then fly back to Never Never land to tell the story to the Lost Boy's, but one night some thing happened that made him noticed, his shadow flew into the Darling house! He ran in after it but he could not get it to stick back on to feet. He sat in the nursery and began to cry. That's when Wendy Darling saw him, it was she who sewed the shadow back on and this was the beginning of a wonderful friendship with many adventures. They fought pirates, helped Indians, met the mermaids and a crocodile Wendy became mother to many of the Lost boy's even taking them home wither when she left Never Never land to be cared for by her family, but one boy would not go, he would not leave Never Never Land. Peter pan swore never to leave.

But one day he went back to the nursery and listened to Wendy (who was now a lady) tell story's to her grand daughter, Moira. And he thought she was beautiful, and from that day he never went back to Never Never land, he stayed with Moyra, he went to school, collage, got a job, got married, moved away and had children, and he forgot who he was, he forgot all about Never Never Land and Tinker Bell and Captain Hook. He was just peter, the accountant.

It was on a trip back to Wendy's house with Moira and his children that Peter began to remember.
When his children, Jack and Maggie go missing from there beds and the only clue is a note from Captain Hook, Peter call's the police thinking it must be a mad man who has kidnapped them, but when he is visited from Tinker Bell who fly's him back to Never Never land peter must start to believe, he must become Peter pan again in order to save his children. But he has forgotten how to fight he has forgotten how to fly and The Lost Boy's have a new leader Rufio, who isn't willing to hand over leadership to a grown up. Will Peter Pan Learn how to fly again? Will he save Jack and Maggie from the Evil Captain Hook? Will he wake up and find it was all a dream? or is he really Peter Pan?

History of Pan
Peter pan first left the pages of the J.M.Barrie book in 1924 when it was played at the Rivoli Theatre in New York and then it played in theatres all over Europe for the next 30 years. It was in 1953 that it hit the silver screen though when Disney made the animated film (Disney had bought the rights to Peter Pan in 1939 but it took him over ten years to begin work on the film) Disney's Peter Pan premiered in America in January 1953, and was first shown in London at the Leicester Square Cinema on April 16th of that year. Since then there have been many different Peter Pan films including, Peter Pan, Finding Never Land, The Lost Boy's and Hook.

HOOK
Hook was made in 1991 and gave a different take on peter pan. Never before had peter grew up. No one expected him to become an accountant. The film was a hit. It had a great cast a great director and a wonderful modern story that gave pan lovers a modern day connection.

4 trailers - it was made in 1991 so I don't remember seeing any of these on tv so its good to watch them now and see what they are like.
Featurette- iv never looked at this (sorry)
3 photo galleries- always nice to see the stills, it gives you a glimpse behind the scenes.
The lost treasure set top game- I cant figure this out, your supposed to use your remote to find the treasure but ive never managed to find it, my remote only lets me go one way and its not the right way.
Filmographys- this is great when you watch a film and you spend all the time thinking "what was he out of?" or "I recognise her"

Info-
Hook is 2hours 16 mins long and is rated U however there is some mild language and violence so a PG may have been a better rating.

Great review. I love this bit but want to cry when the kids finally go home and the mum thinks she's dreaming.
