I am writing a review on the DVD Honeymoon in Vegas starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicholas cage and James Cann.
Nicholas Cage stars as Jack Singer, a private Detective who is dating Betsy Nolen played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Jack and Betsy have been dating for some time now, and Betsy feels that she is more than ready for the next stage in their relationship - Marriage. However, on the day Jacks mother died, on her death bed, she begs him never to marry, as no one will ever love him as much as she will, and these words haunt him in his dreams. So things are starting to go down hill for their relationship until one night jack says "Lets do it, let's go to Vegas and get married tomorrow"
Off the two go to Vegas thinking it was the start of a new life for them, but this was only the start of the problems that was facing them over in Vegas.
Tommy Korman is a poker king over in Vegas - he is well known all over America. He recently lost his beautiful wife Donna and is now concentrating all his time to playing poker and settling debts. Tommy sees jack and betsy come in to their hotel and sees that betsy is the exact double of his dead wife Donna, and from then onwards plans a poker game for the new guests in the hotel, and fixes the game so that Jack owes him 65k, and to settle his debt, he wishes to spend the weekend with his girlfriend. Jack and betsy have no choice but to go through with the weekend as neither of them has that kind of money, but Tommy whisks her away to Hawaii and tries to win her heart… will it work? Hes rich, well known and wants to get married? Has jack lost his girlfriend forever?
My Opinion
This is one very old film, as it came out in 2002, and I remember watching it years ago when I was younger and I loved it, I have recently just bought a load of old movies I used to watch years ago. Love them. Anyway bk to this, A brilliant film I thought. I love Sarah Jessica parker, she is very young in this movie and looks totally amazing, I love her figure I want it She is a brilliant actress in this film, she really made the character, I doubt anyone else cud of done it better. Nicholas Cage is a top actor, he was totally brilliant, I love all his movies, he was excellent, I really could feel how he felt in the movie or rather his character, seeing his girl leaving the country with another man, very sad. James Cann played the bad guy in this movie, and he was great, he just has that look of a bad ass, like all them mafia movies out, hes like the mafia king who no one wants to get on the wrong side of.
The film was well directed and written by Andrew Bergman, I think filming in Vegas must not of been easy as it is such a busy city. But it was very beautiful. The elvises scenes were brilliant, flying elvises were hilarious.
Anyway - top movie - I loved it very much - it is very enjoyable, family movie, no naughtyness, its very funny at times and quite original as I don't know any other movies like it. There is alot of elvis songs in it also as there is a elvis thing going on on the hotel where the two were staying - so a great sound track.
5*
