out of jokes long before it runs out of comic ideas. The result is a series of comedy concepts that never get past the one-liner stage and are distinctly unsatisfying. Still, there is plenty to be amused by in this story of a reluctant bridegroom (Nicolas Cage) who finally agrees to marriage, only to lose his fiancée (Sarah Jessica Parker) in a crooked poker game to a professional gambler (James Caan). The rest of the movie deals with his frantic attempt to get his fiancée back, while coping with a Vegas in the throes of an Elvis-impersonator convention. That's the funniest thing about the whole movie (most notably the team of parachuting Elvises at the end), but even that is drawn out in ways that are more clever than laughter-inducing.--Marshall Fine, Amazon.com

...a review on the DVD Honeymoon in Vegas starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicholas cage and James Cann.
Nicholas Cage stars as Jack Singer, a private Detective who is dating Betsy Nolen played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
Jack and Betsy have been dating for some time now, and Betsy feels that she is more than ready for the next stage in their relationship - Marriage.
However, on the day Jacks mother died, on her death bed, she ... ...love him as much as she will, and these words haunt him in his dreams.
So things are starting to go down hill for their relationship until one night jack says "Lets do it, let's go to Vegas and get married tomorrow"
Off the two go to Vegas thinking it was the start of a new life for them, but this was only the start of the problems that was facing them over in Vegas.

Tommy Korman is a poker king over in Vegas - he is well known all over America. He recently lost his beautiful wife Donna and is now concentrating all his time to playing poker and settling debts. Tommy sees jack and betsy come in to their hotel and sees that betsy is the exact double of his dead wife Donna, and from then onwards plans a poker game for the new guests in the hotel, and fixes the game so that Jack owes him 65k, and to settle his debt, he wishes to spend the weekend with his girlfriend. Jack and betsy have no choice but to go through with the weekend as neither of them has that kind of money, but Tommy whisks her away to Hawaii and tries to win her heart… will it work? Hes rich, well known and wants to get married? Has jack lost his girlfriend forever?
My Opinion
This is one very old film, as it came out in 2002, and I remember watching it years ago when I was younger and I loved it, I have recently just bought a load of old movies I used to watch years ago. Love them. Anyway bk to this, A brilliant film I thought. I love Sarah Jessica parker, she is very young in this movie and looks totally amazing, I love her figure I want it She is a brilliant actress in this film, she really made the character, I doubt anyone else cud of done it better. Nicholas Cage is a top actor, he was totally brilliant, I love all his movies, he was excellent, I really could feel how he felt in the movie or rather his character, seeing his girl leaving the country with another man, very sad. James Cann played the bad guy in this movie, and he was great, he just has that look of a bad ass, like all them mafia movies out, hes like the mafia king who no one wants to get on the wrong side of.
The film was well directed and written by Andrew Bergman, I think filming in Vegas must not of been easy as it is such a busy city. But it was very beautiful. The elvises scenes were brilliant, flying elvises were hilarious.
Anyway - top movie - I loved it very much - it is very enjoyable, family movie, no naughtyness, its very funny at times and quite original as I don't know any other movies like it. There is alot of elvis songs in it also as there is a elvis thing going on on the hotel where the two were staying - so a great sound track.
5*
The DVD extras
Trailers - Featurette - Cast & Crew - Segments - Music Video
Advantages: Nicholas Cage - always good value, flying Elvi. Disadvantages: A bit formulaic, could have been much funnier
The funniest scene in this amusing farce is where Nicholas Cage gets caught up in a plane full of sky diving Elvis's or should I say Elvi.
Worth seeing for this alone but the film has enough bright humour and funny dialogue to keep you amused if not laughing all the way through to the end. Cage proves himself once again a highly versatile actor being just at home in comedy as intense drama (Leaving Las Vegas) and James Caan is always very watchable. ...

Two men are crazy for the same girl. And the girl is caught in the middle. A convention of Elvis clones are also raising hell.

Review
"...[Cage] once again displays the quintessential air of frenetic desperation....Sarah Jessica Parker not only looks appropriately attractive but also brings an essential down-to-earth sanity to the role..." (Los Angeles Times, p.F1, 28/08/1992)
"...Bergman arrives in the very big time....A virtually nonstop scream of benign delirium, pop entertainment as revivifying as anything you're likely to see..." (New York Times, p.C8, 28/08/1992)
Private detective Jack Singer (Nicholas Cage) promised his mother, on her deathbed, that he would never marry. Now his girlfriend Betsy (Sarah Jessica Parker) is threatening to leave him if he doesn't marry her. Jack decides, despite his fear and guilt, to give in to Betsy's demands. They fly off to Las Vegas where, in an attempt to postpone the wedding, Jack joins in a "hospitality" poker game with professional gambler Tommy Korman (James Caan), who cheats Jack out of $65,000. Tommy offers Jack a deal: If Jack lets Tommy spend the weekend with his girlfriend (who coincidentally is the spitting image of Tommy's dead wife) Tommy will forget about Jack's debt. Jack convinces Betsy to go along, and then, worried that he might lose Betsy forever, frantically tries to break up their weekend. Oh, and the film features a group of sky-diving Elvis impersonators. Viva Las Vegas!
