If a film is based on dancing then I have to see it Dirty Dancing, Save the last Dance, Step Up I am a fan of them all and this is another one to add to the list of great dancing films.
This film has many artists appearing in this film from Missy Elliot, Tweet, Ginuwine, and Jadakiss.
This film is about choreographer Honey Daniels played by Jessica Alba, who hopes she will land her first paid gig as a dancer after attending many auditions, but for now she works three jobs to make ends meat. Whilst working at a community centre teaching kids to dance, although the centre is a little run down and is starting to fall apart.
One day whilst she is working behind the bar at a club on her break she goes for a dance with her friend where she is spotted by the director of music videos Michael Ellis played by David Moscow and he hands her his business card. Honey calls him and asks her to choreograph videos for Ginuwine and Tweet, Honey is living her dream unfortunately Honey hits a harsh reality when Michael try's it in with her and when she brushes him away as she is not interested he makes her life a living hell and gets her ignored by the industry.
Honey then has to go back to the community centre throws herself back into her community work and helps her most talented students Benny played by Lil' Romeo and Raymond played by Zachary Isaiah Williams stay out of the hands of local drug dealers and give them a chance to grow up as children having fun and not getting mixed up in the gang life that there is in New York.
Honey then decides to put on a show with the community group which is a sell out and with a guest appearance, Honey realises that its not all about living it big in the music industry, she buys a new community centre to run to give something back to the community.
Honey also has a love interest Mekhi Phifer, also known better for his part as Dr Pratt in ER.
All in all, a good buy and well worth a watch will have your toes tapping from start to finish. It has many other twists which are great and I did not see them all coming.
