...Ti West is a first time director who has been lauded for this first time feature. A homage to b-movies The Roost has that old horror staple of a car full of young people taking a short cut to their destination, a friends wedding and crashing in truly 'breath-taking' Star Trek (original series) style. They find themselves lost in the middle of nowhere, looking for some way to get their car out of a ditch. Just down the road are a farmhouse and a barn. The old couple that live there are just leaving when a sound attracts the old farmer. He goes to investigate and doesn't come back; neither does his wife when she goes looking for him. This is where the four friends end up, looking for help or for a phone to call for help at the very least. What they find is something completely different…… there is something in the barn that will end up... Read review

...A programme set in a funeral home did not appeal to me at first but I gave it a chance and was genuinely surprised. This series is one of the most shockingly gentle and family orientated shows I have seen. It is dark but sweet and centres around the main characters and how they deal with life, death and each other. Peter Krause is excellent as Nate and Rachel Griffiths as his hippy, ethnic girlfriend Brenda. The characters interaction with the deceased people they treat give insights into their own characters and how they view life. Like every drama, six feet under has tender, shocking and funny moments and this drama will appeal to a character aspect in everyone. If you enjoyed the first series then the second will not dissapoint.... Read review

...The DVD shows in excellent quality the whole second series, which brings both tears of joy and hurt to anyone that can read into the storylines. Even though the language may not be the most appropirate at all times that is no reason to discard, this amazing overview of one of the best disfunctional families of all time. Even though this is the second series if you have not yet seen the first one you are not at a loss, don't worry about the fact that you may not yet know the characters or previous lines, they will allowed you to soon catch up. For the people that have already seen the first series, well good on you! You obviously appreciate great writing, well don't worry the second series does not dissapoint, it has more great characters and storlines that are very addictive. This should not be missed!...
