HomeAlone, was a classic hit comedy film that was first released in 1991. Even in my adulthood, I am more than happy to watch the film again, and when I was a kid I use to remember watching this film a hundred times during the Christmas holidays and summer holidays. It was such a feel good familyfun film; it was the sort of film that even if you?ve watched it once you would never gets bored watching it over and over again.
Plot:
The film opens with the entire McCallister family packing for their Christmas vacation to France. The family is exceptionally big, some 30 plus including adults. Kevin McCallister the youngest in the family needs help packing his luggage, the older kids simply don?t have the time or the patience to help him, he feels left out and unwanted, just like most teenagers. Advantages: Funny, heart melting, appealing to young kids as well as adults Disadvantages: Some scenes may frighten children
Christmas time is here and it's time to get into the spirit!
HomeAlone to me is one of the most magic christmas movies ever made, it's emotional, humorous, well acted and most importantly Christmassy. The story involves young Kevin McAllister (Macaulay Culkin) as he finds out what it's like to make his family 'disappear', along the way he is trouled by obstacles such as his basement fire and burglars, aptly called "the Wet Bandits"
The music of the film is perhaps my favourite score of any movie of all time and it is very nostalgic to a guy who first saw this movie when he was 3 years old.
The ending scene when Kevin is reunited with his family is sure to bring a lump to the throat for even the hardest cage fighter.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, what are you waiting for!? Christmas time has come, it's time to watch a movie ...
Advantages: Perfect family viewing Disadvantages: That flipping Culkin Kid!
"HomeAlone" is one of those films which has now become so connected with the Christmas holiday season that it's as almost as traditional to watch this as to watch a James Bond, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or the Sound of Music.
Kevin Macallister is the pipsqueak of his large family that is extended even further when other family members drop in for the Xmas holidays. The extended family is due to fly to France for the holidays but after a misunderstanding with a cousin who wets the bed, a pizza and skinflint Uncle Frank, poor Kevin is banished to the loft to sleep. Misfortune strikes the family when due to a power cut the alarm clocks do not go off and the family must dash like mad things to make their flights leaving Kevin all alone in the large house.
At first Kevin cannot believe his luck as he's allowed to get up to all sorts ...
Young Kevin McCallister has been mistakenly left at home in Chicago when his family rush off to spend Christmas in Paris. Initially he is delighted that he can eat and watch what he likes and go off to his bed any time he chooses. His newfound freedom is shortlived however, when his home becomes the target of two bungling burglars. Young Kevin must protect the house any way he can...
