Director: Andy Tennent Producers: James Lassiter, Will Smith and Teddy Zee. Writer: Kevin Bisch Stars: Will Smith, Eva Mendas and Kevin James
Released in early 2005 this comical romantic movie tried to show the life of a man who helped other in there flirtation techniques but failed in his own lovelife.
**BRIEF PLOT**
Alex Hitchens, or Hitch for short, (played by Will Smith) is a professional matchmaker, who uses his skill as a smooth-talker to boost the egos of men, allowing them to gain enough confidence to ask out the objects of their desires, teaching them how to treat their date for the perfect evening.
His own skills are put to the test whilst teaching his new client Albert Brennaman, (played by Kevin James) who is trying to woe Allegra Cole, (played by Amber Valletta), when Hitch begins to fall for the beautiful gossip columnist Sara Melas, (played by Eva Mendes), who is secretly trying to ruin the career of hitch as revenge an incident which happened to her friend…
Hitch uses all his techniques to attract Sara but soon realises that teaching others what to do is a lot easier than doing it yourself… even if you have all the confidence in the world.
**IN CONCLUSION**
Considering it stars Will Smith it is not a fantastically brilliant movie. Will does play his part well and the gorgeous Eva Mendas really gives the movie a sexually erotic kick which it really needs.
The humour is just about adequate enough to keep the audience entertained, which is essential as the story line is on the slow side.
The movie is almost like a fly on the wall docu-soap, following the womaniser Hitch through his day to day life. This one never really gets off the ground on the entertaining value. It is slow and can become rather dull and boring in parts.
Although I am a great Will Smith fan and rate most of his movie, such as Independence day, Men in Black, Bad Boys and even I am Legend, (at a push), but this one really gives his career a knock and a step backwards.., which is a shame really as I was hoping for more from this one.
Would I recommend this…? No, Not really, unless you're totally bored and it comes on the television, but I must warn you that you will probably become bored sometime during the movie, probably with-in the first ten minutes, and it doesn't get any more entertaining after that so grab have another DVD on stand by, just in-case…..

This has been posted in the category for the Blu-Ray DVD, but mentions nothing about the new Blu-Ray format. Given that this has been posted in this specialised category, I would like to know about the quality of the new format.

I wasn't keen on Hitch at all either, thought it was pretty boring. I was hoping for better from Will and Kevin James too... oh well... good review
