At last another Brit flick to rival four weddings. This is a fantastic, riot of a film that will have you desperate to have a few drinks listen to cheesy music and buy a scanner!
Minnie Driver plays Shannon, a nurse who's good for nothing boyfriend has forgotten her birthday. He's too busy making his "art" for which he samples voices and uses some kind of scanning device that picks up people talking from outside.
So depressed she kicks her boyfriend out and goes to visit her friend Frances played by Mary Mccormack. shes an actress who isn't particularly good!
They decide to go out and get verrrry drunk to celebrate shannon's birthday & dumping her loser boyfriend.
Once home they overhear details of a bank robbery through the scanner. They go to their local police who are not interested, but the next day 2 detectives are on the case to find them for more information, and the only leads they have are that 1 is blonde and 1 is brunette and they are "attractive". (this comes up continuously)
The girls decide to blackmail the robbers into giving them a share of the money or theyll go to the police.
As you can imagine crime lords Mason and Kerrigan are none too impressed by these threats and try various different ways to get "rid" of the girls. With Hilarious consequences.
You'll recognise a lot of british actors in this film and they all play their characters exceptionally well.
This film has everything, chicks in charge, the mob a fantastic soundtrack and excellent costumes for Minnie Driver!
Its full of action as well as laughs and the guys will love it too as long as they dont mind being beaten by the girls??
I would highly recommend this film, especially if you are with your mates and having one or two "sociable" shandies!! (and the rest!) youll be screaming at the telly cheering the girls on!
It was fantastic and i thoroughly enjoyed it, and i hope you enjoy it as much as i did too.
