Well I walked into the Guilford Odeon full of hopes at the prospect of watching a good film. With some disappointment the only film I could watch was indeed High Heels and Low Lives. I had heard reviews of it, a chick flick was the most memorable, oh dear I thought. Well I bought my ticket and went in.
I don’t want to spoil the film for you so I won’t give too much of the plot away. The basic plot is that Minnie Driver a financially struggling nurse and her bestfriend a failing actress. Live life at slow and ordinary pace until the overhear a bank robbery and after going to the police played by members of the big train and fast show teams respectively. Refuse to take them seriously. They decide that they should get the money for themselves. This leads to several separate comic plans. They all collimate in a shoot-out with the villains. However, of course they get away with the cash. They keep some for themselves and with the rest help fund the hospital where Driver had worked.
A good film with definite female undertones but as a guy I was quite able to sit and enjoy the film. This will never become a masterpiece but is a solid funny film with mix of slapstick and verbal gags. Worth a watch but don’t buy the video when it comes out.

I thought this was a class film! Some good comedy in it as you pointed out. I had free preview tickets and wasn't expecting anything at all, but I thought it was great! Scott

Hi, sorry for the low rating but I found the punctuation and spelling in this made it difficult to read. Please let me know if you update this and I will come back and rerate! Cheers, Susan.
