My kids are aged 4 and 6 and they love Hi 5. I have to admit I don't mind it either. you know how some of the kids TV shows drive you insane (I banned them form watching telly tubbies when they were younger because I found it so irritating!) well Hi 5 isn't like that, its really up beat they are always singing and dancing and you find yourself singing along with out realising. (Probably shouldn't admit that!)
There are 5 members of Hi 5 Kelly, Kathleen, Charlie, Nathan and Tim. They sing, dance dress up and tell stories which my girls love. There are also two puppets on the show but here names escape me right now. The presenters speak to the children as if they are their friends, in a non patronising way making the kids feel comfortable, they dress in bright colours and the girls have bright ribbons and decorations in their hair.
There are quite a few Hi 5 DVD'S but Magical Treasures is the only one we have. It is 57 minuets of mini adventures including, Egyptian princess, Dirt boy, and the musical giant. I'm not sure how many different stories there are because often they run into each other but there are mermaids, giants and magical creatures. There are clues to follow that lead to a treasure map and there are pirates searching for treasure, personally I like captain Puffy Pants. (I definitely shouldn't admit that)
The song and dance moves are easy for the kids follow with turns and easy two step moves, and I should know iv been doing them too, (I really shouldn't admit that)
Songs include, 'dirt boy', 'lets pretend', 'buried treasure', and my favourite 'opposites attract' (Now I know I shouldn't admit that)
Special features on the DVD are subtitles, child friendly menus and karaoke
Its 57minuets long and made for 2-8 year olds although the certification is u so it's suitable for all. it cost me £9.99 in dec 2005 it comes on one disc witha picture of all the hi 5 members on the front.
Over all rating very good for 2-8yrs old (and some mums too.)
I know this is a short DVD but there isn't really much to tell, no morals, no intricate story details, no twisting plots, just a fun ,happy DVD for kids to enjoy over and over again.

We went to their show. I know more about this than I really care to admit - such as the two puppet names you couldn't quite remember. - No I am not going to tell you now!

I used to love this show. And I don't mean 'used to' like I was 5 or 6, but 15 or 16 !! hehe
