Advantages: In a neat box, Totally collectable, Clive barkers classic, Its Pinhead Disadvantages: There seams to be a Hellraiser missing. Not for the easily disturbed.
...inspirational mind the release of Hellraiser was upon us.
According to many film critics at the time Hellraiser was to break the mould of horror movies at the time well did it lets see shall we.
The film is largely based around the family home. Larry and his wife Julia have moved into a new home. And Kirsty Larry's daughter also plays a large part. Frank Larry's brother and Julia's old lover when they first met. All the characters work very well ... ...and my thoughts.........
HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER 2
Some info i recently found out before we start on the film itself. In the later part of 1987 before they even started filming the Hellbound film a third was already being drafted this was to be based mainly on the villain of the first movie. Claire Higgin's Julia but this never followed through on the sheer fact of the reaction to the first the unnamed cenobites so Clive Barker was forced to rethink ...

...features in all of the Hellraiser movies, is a 4-disc special edition set. It is labelled as 'Limited Edition', although I'm not sure what it is that's limited about it, since it has been in shops since 2004 and is still selling in them now - almost 2006. The box set contains the first three films (The series was originally pegged as a trilogy, and added to later - these first three films are considered by many to be the "main" films in the series), ... ...♠♠♠Hellraiser♠♠♠
The Hellraiser series was originally a concept by Clive Barker, who is famed for his horror novels and other works, and the original movie, simply entitled 'Hellraiser', was released in England in 1987. This film was directed by Clive Barker, although none of the sequels are.
Hellraiser is somewhat of an anomaly in the horror world - a genuinely chilling movie that has withstood the test of time. ...

Advantages: The fist three films plus an extras disc Disadvantages: Very Few, Difficult to fit in my DVD case
A must have for any Hellraiser fans, Excellently presented in the 'box', tons of really good extras.
Very good special effects for its time with excellent custume design, from the twisted mind of Clive Barker.
I personally enjoyed Hellraiser 2 better than the original and the storylines are original, however Hellraiser 3 brings on a new twist to the story (dont forget to see Hellraiser 4: BLOODLINE).

DVD Description
This horror collection presents the first three HELLRAISER films, based on characters created by Clive Barker. See individual titles for more details. HELLRAISER - Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a couple (Andrew Robinson and Clare Higgins) who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature--the man's half-brother (Sean Chapman), who is also the woman's former lover--hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons called the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to complete his body...but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. The film is one of the best horror offerings of the 1980s, based on Barker's novel THE HELLBOUND HEART. HELLRAISER II: HELLBOUND - Beginning just hours after the original HELLRAISER ended, HELLBOUND finds young Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) waking up in a mental institution because she insisted on describing her parents' murderers to the authorities as pain-loving demons from hell. Unfortunately, she has been placed in the car of Dr. Channard (Kenneth Cranham), who has devoted his life to solving the Lament Configuration, the key to the doorway of hell, and now, with Kirsty, he believes he has found another key. Resuscitating the skinless corpse of her stepmother, Julia (Clare Higgins), Dr. Channard succeeds in opening a doorway to hell, one that Julia, Channard, Kristy, and her mute friend, Tiffany (Imogen Boorman), all travel through. HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH - TV journalist Joey (Terry Farrell) gets drawn into the world of the supernatural while investigating a mysterious death. She discovers that a strange sculpture housed at a sleazy night club was responsible. The evil Cenobite, Pinhead (Doug Bradley), is released from the sculpture by a human sacrifice and proceeds to wreak havoc.
