Plot: A pair of hair-raising skin-crawlers. HELLRAISER: Clive Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a man and wife who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature--the man's half-brother, who is also the woman's former lover--hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons called the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to complete his body... but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. The film is one of the best horror offerings of the 1980s, based on Barker's novel THE HELLBOUND HEART. CHILDREN OF THE CORN: Young lovers on a cross-country trip stop in a small Nebraska community and make a shocking discovery. One day, three years prior to the couples' arrival, the town's children killed all of the grown-ups at the apparent behest of a demon simply dubbed "He Who Walks Behind the Rows." Based on a short story from horror scribe Stephen King's "Night Shift" collection, this film spawned a slew of bloody sequels.

...The hellraiser collection, are a great set of horror films. I remember the first time I saw the original hellraiser film that I was really scared. Pinhead is one of the best characters to come out of horror films, along with Freddie Kreuger, who scared the living daylights out of me when I was little. If you like horror films and you haven't seen any of the hellraiser set, you really should, cos they're good and scary. Blood and guts galore in all of four of the hellraiser films, as pinhead and the rest of his senobytes (however you spell it) rip up innocent humans. still its fun to watch!!...

Advantages: The fist three films plus an extras disc Disadvantages: Very Few, Difficult to fit in my DVD case
...A must have for any Hellraiser fans, Excellently presented in the 'box', tons of really good extras.
Very good special effects for its time with excellent custume design, from the twisted mind of Clive Barker.
I personally enjoyed Hellraiser 2 better than the original and the storylines are original, however Hellraiser 3 brings on a new twist to the story (dont forget to see Hellraiser 4: BLOODLINE).

Advantages: True horror Disadvantages: some wooden acting
...The first time I saw the trailer for this film, I was very scared and almost so scared that I almost didn't watch the film. But after having watched the film, I was very intigued by this false reality that Clive Barker has built up in the Hellraiser series. The first scene in the first film was pretty gruesome enough, where the solving of a simple puzzle box had ripped a man's flesh to pieces and now he would inhabit a world where the pleasure ofm pain is king. The real fear is from that of the Cenobites, the creatures that nihabit the dark side of life, who have been malformed and are gruesome enough themselves. All of these aspects make for an entirely horror filled story and one that I will never ever forget....
