Advantages: In a neat box, Totally collectable, Clive barkers classic, Its Pinhead Disadvantages: There seams to be a Hellraiser missing. Not for the easily disturbed.
So when I spotted this out I couldn't resist had to have it. Lucky for me after much whining my husband brought it. Clive barker at his best from my point of view. I must warn though this has four disc's and I will review the lot and what i thought plus the extras. So here goes on one of my favourites horror characters Pinhead on with the review.
The Boxset is rather unique its set as the puzzle box with a disc on each side which after removing the lid folds out into four. A collectors booklet in the centre. This is a limited Edition I presume it means only so many were made and carries the extra disc to the 3 disc only version.
HELLRAISER
I will always remember the first time I saw this film underage i might add but nether the less it sticks out in my mind. Totally original workings of a horror classic that would stand ...
Advantages: The films, The extras, The box Disadvantages: A little bit dated, The box (see review)
This boxset, which is presented in the style of the Lament Configuration Box (or the 'puzzle' box) that features in all of the Hellraiser movies, is a 4-disc special edition set. It is labelled as 'Limited Edition', although I'm not sure what it is that's limited about it, since it has been in shops since 2004 and is still selling in them now - almost 2006.
The boxset contains the first three films (The series was originally pegged as a trilogy, and added to later - these first three films are considered by many to be the "main" films in the series), and a fourth bonus disc. Each of the films has extras of its own on the film disc, and the bonus disc includes a few more interviews etc.

Advantages: The box for all those hellraiser fans Disadvantages: None i can think of
Well what can i say about these films i myself am a huge fan i own them on dvd and original vhs because i cannot bear to part with them. If you like blood, gore, twisted immages and torture the these are the films for you. Originally it started with the box being opened by a man that had no idea what it could do he soon found out and tried to escape the cenobites including good old pinhead the leader to get out of the torture (pleasure and pain). He found a way to come back through consuming human bodies which made him be reborn but in a sick way. He had the help of his brothers wife which whom had an affair when he was still alive anyway his neice vowed to stop him and she did. In the second series it was her estranged step mother from the previous film this time she has to do the same to come back to earth but from the mattress which ...

DVD Description
This horror collection presents the first three HELLRAISER films, based on characters created by Clive Barker. See individual titles for more details. HELLRAISER - Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a couple (Andrew Robinson and Clare Higgins) who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature--the man's half-brother (Sean Chapman), who is also the woman's former lover--hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons called the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him human sacrifices to complete his body...but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. The film is one of the best horror offerings of the 1980s, based on Barker's novel THE HELLBOUND HEART. HELLRAISER II: HELLBOUND - Beginning just hours after the original HELLRAISER ended, HELLBOUND finds young Kirsty (Ashley Laurence) waking up in a mental institution because she insisted on describing her parents' murderers to the authorities as pain-loving demons from hell. Unfortunately, she has been placed in the car of Dr. Channard (Kenneth Cranham), who has devoted his life to solving the Lament Configuration, the key to the doorway of hell, and now, with Kirsty, he believes he has found another key. Resuscitating the skinless corpse of her stepmother, Julia (Clare Higgins), Dr. Channard succeeds in opening a doorway to hell, one that Julia, Channard, Kristy, and her mute friend, Tiffany (Imogen Boorman), all travel through. HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH - TV journalist Joey (Terry Farrell) gets drawn into the world of the supernatural while investigating a mysterious death. She discovers that a strange sculpture housed at a sleazy night club was responsible. The evil Cenobite, Pinhead (Doug Bradley), is released from the sculpture by a human sacrifice and proceeds to wreak havoc.
