As a hardcore Kitty fan I looked forward to watching this with my neice (5). Though she loved it and insisted on watching disc one a further 5 times in a row, as an adult fan I wasn't really that enthralled.
Firstly, in the animation, Kitty has a mouth!! OK, a minor point, but can take some getting used to (yes, I am a bit sad, aren't I) and the animation is not of the highest quality. The other thing I didn't like was the sometimes patronising tone.
Having said that, this is wonderful for children. Each episode tries to teach something, from road safety, 'stranger danger' and similar themes, to good manners and social skills such as sharing, in an entertaining way. The 'message' of each episode is obvious (no subtlety here - annoying for adults, but good for young children). The stories are fairly well-written and often funny.
I would say if you are looking to entertain your little girl with something cute and educational, then you won't go far wrong here. If you are an adult fan, however, maybe this is one for the hardcore collectors only.
