A first rate cast, an intelligent and stylish screen play and intense action scenes makes Heat unmissable. Based on Michael Mann's 80's TV film 'LA Takedown', Heat is a true rarity, it combines a crime thriller with equal measures of action and drama. At nearly three hours long, Heat is not a film for impatient viewers, instead it qualifies as an epic.

Written and directed by Michael Mann (Miami Vice, The Last Of The Mohicans, Manhunter, The Insider) Heat is more than a 'Los Angeles Crime Saga' it's an epic masterpiece and probably the greatest film of the 90's.

Heat is an intelligent character driven crime drama, which pits an obsessed homicide detective against an elusive criminal. These main protagonists are played by Al Pacino and Robert De Niro - the first film in which these two actors, arguably the two greatest actors of their generation, appear on film together. The tense screenplay and depth of the characters results in some of the most memorable scenes ever to grace the big screen.

From the opening armoured truck attack to the running fire fight sequence right through to the marvellous final showdown, Heat will keep you gripped, it's a film which requires more from the viewer than just to sit and watch.

The ending is superb, nothing short of a work of genius and is wrapped up with the Moby's 'God moving over the face of the waters' which completes a stimulating soundtrack.

Perhaps Heat's greatest merit is that the film is as much about the quality of directing and photography as it is about the quality of the acting and it's screenplay.
