Two Acting Greats turn up the 'Heat'
Review of Heat (Special Edition) by dempsey_review

Advantages: De Niro and Pacino together
Disadvantages: would have liked more focus on the main characters

...in mind I do think Heat is one of the best action crime dramas I have ever scene. I am never bored watching it, and have completely lost count how many times I have indeed watched it. I may have wanted more focus on the main characters, but Michael Mann's directing never the less was superb in this, making an audience glued for three hours is not an easy task, which in my views Mann successfully did with this film. Although Braveheart was the movie ...
...the shelf, I think Heat was the best movie of that year. -------------------------------------------- My Thoughts on the Characters -------------------------------------------- The roles of the characters were picked perfectly. I could never pick a favourite out of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, they both bring so many talents to any part they pick to play, but undoubtedly in this movie you could not imagine the characters the other way round. ... Heat
Review of Heat (Special Edition) by  mjh1987

Advantages: All round brilliance.
Disadvantages: Hard to decide who is better actor DeNiro or Pacino

...No offence intended, but if you are among the countless scores of people who consider themselves film aficionados, and yet you still need to read this to decide whether or not to buy this DVD, well then you are probably a cinematic layman. Heat is lauded by critics and fans alike, and it would not be an exaggeration to describe Heat as one of the best crime films ever made. It is easily Michael Mann’s best film and if you’re a fan of his work then this will clearly be for you. But if you happen to dislike his films you will surely find something in Heat to make you reconsider. It is Michael Mann's masterpiece. It comes before 'Collateral' and 'Miami Vice' and is outclasses them both on all counts It takes the age old story of the veteran cop stalking the career criminal, and expands it beyond the very outer reaches of even the best... Sizzling Perfection
Review of Heat by  EMOO02

Advantages: Perfect Casting, Story, Action, directing - the list goes on forever!
Disadvantages: None what so ever - although at present, there are no DVD extras.

...you gripped and THE BEST bank heist you will ever see! You can watch Heat more than once, still receiving the same thrills from the same scenes. The camera angles were perfect and the special effects were impressive. A good, good film, having it on DVD is perfect, with the picture and sound quality at a good standard. Although if you were planning to purchase it soon on DVD, I would advise you wait a couple of months, as ‘Heatspecial edition’ will be out shortly. About the Movie (Some plot points may be revealed). Heat could lightly be described as a film about 2 lives on opposite sides of the law. One an ‘LA’ cop, Lt. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) and the other an expert thief, Neil McCauley (De Niro). The film is about McCauley and his gang planning to pull off one big bank robbery to enable them to settle down for good... Read review
