Heartbreakers, the recently released Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt film is one of the funniest and utterly enjoyable comedies I have seen over the last few years. It’s relative box office failure in the UK astounds me, as it was hugely successful, and well received in the USA. This might be due to the fact that Miss Hewitt is still relatively unknown in the UK. The story needs to be seen to be appreciated, but centres round a mother and daughter con-team financially exploiting the male, sex-driven population of Los Angeles. Naturally they run into trouble with hilarious consequences. The movie warrants viewing alone for Gene Hackman’s tobacco tycoon (he proves himself to be even more adapt at this genre than his usual thriller roles!) and the amazing physical beauty of Miss Hewitt. A good night out, whether you are taking your mates or your wife!
