Gigi is into Conor, but Conor is into Anna - Anna, however, is into Ben, but unfortunately, Ben is married to Janine, who, incidentally, is really into Ben but their marriage isn't all that great - meanwhile, Beth and Neil are into each other, but because Neil doesn't believe in the institution of marriage, Beth, who does really love him, tells him to leave, which Neil does, but he's still into Beth, and she's still into him, but marriage isn't on the horizon so they'll remain into each other separately! As for Alex, he makes a point of never being into anyone because he just can't handle it, and Mary... well... Mary would love to be into someone who doesn't think that voicemail and texting are equivalent to actual talking.

Confused? Don't be...

Gigi, Beth and Janine are close friends who work for the same company. Gigi, who is extremely sweet and naïve, would love to find Mr. Right, but she might settle for Mr. So-So if he actually returns her calls. Beth, on the other hand, has already found Mr. Right, however, her long-time beau, Neil, doesn't believe in marriage. As for Janine, she managed to hogtie her college sweetheart by giving him an ultimatum; marriage or bust. For not-so-obvious reasons, Ben chose marriage, but his relationship with Janine is pretty lacking... as is their sex life.

On the other side of the tracks, so to speak, Anna and Mary, who are good friends, are also searching for Mr. Right. Anna has been floundering in an on-again-off-again relationship with Conor, who is, by all means, a 'safe' bet as far as relationships go but he's a bit boring. What Anna wants is a bit more excitement - and in walks Ben, the charming and totally sexy man-of-her-dreams, but, well, there's a tiny glitch... he's married. As for Mary, well, she's totally surrounded by men, unfortunately they're all gay. As for relationships, there aren't any, not 'real' ones anyways! Mary's love life is a 'virtual' one with 'virtual' lovers who communicate with her via voicemail, email and phone texts. She realises it's not much of a life, and she desperately wants more, but she seems to be stuck in some sort of electronic quagmire.

As the group of career-minded and successful twenty and thirty-somethings attempt to make sense of their personal lives, their paths cross in meaningful and unexpected ways that will help them to grow.

Gigi, with the assistance of Alex, will learn the hard truth about relationships and discover that although there are exceptions to the rules when it comes to love, she will never be the exception. Ben, with the assistance of Anna, will realise that he's just not that 'good' a guy, and Beth, with the assistance of time, will discover that the institution of marriage isn't always all it's cut out to be... happily married couples aren't necessarily happily married!

'He's Just Not That Into You' is a brilliant movie - it's devilishly clever, the script is incredibly wry and amusing, and with so many people popping up all over the place, there's never a dull moment.

The characters are absolutely addictive and wholeheartedly believable - there is just so much depth to all of them, so much to like... they are all different, yet share common feelings and emotions. They are successful in their jobs, yet emotional wrecks who all seem to be on a tight 'matrimonial' schedule. They are all needy, and although some of them appear to be a bit more stable emotionally, they are, deep down, terrified of being alone.

Watching this movie is very much like being on a road trip... albeit without the road... or the trip! The road, obviously, is the path that each individual takes in order to find what they need in order to grow [emotionally] - the trip is basically made up of stops along the way, a compilation of failed relationships and gained friendships. Around each corner there is something new to discover, and it forces the viewer to question his/her own expectations in regards to relationships... and to smile... knowing that our own personal experiences don't differ widely from those that the characters are experiencing.

Although this movie hasn't received the positive feedback it deserves, it would be a mistake to underestimate it. Far from being the inane romantic/comedy that is regularly spat out for viewers who have money to waste, this one is a veritable little gem that possesses more than just a great cast... it's got soul.
