Although based on a stage play, Harvey is an all time classic movie.
James Stewart, playing Edward P.Dowd, is a kindly eccentric. from a comfotable background, who wishes well upon everyone. His only falicy it would seem is that his best friend is a 6 foot tall invisiable rabbit, anmed Harvey.
His behaviour, though accepted within his own little world, is considered highly undesirable in the socialite world his widowed sister and niece are desperate to break into.
Though some of the secondary characters are starting to look a little dated, the movie, on whole, as fresh, and entertaining today as it ever was.
James Stewart as Elwood Dowd steals the film, his natural performance and overflowing good nature make him impossible not to like. Second only to ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’; Harvey is an all time classic move, that both kids and adults will love.
This film is an all time goodun, which is why I'm here. Muchu unbelieveable story but so good natured is the main character that it somehow wins you over. The opinion could do with a little more meat on the bones but in a way it follows Edwards relationship with the big rabbit. It's great and reading this brought it all back again. If I could find it I'd buy it. Thanks and please add some more so that more people like us could come to appreciate it. Cheers (_8-(|)
