I was not a huge fan before buying this collection but I thought what with all the hype of people talking about the latest film at work, I thought I would give it a go, after all I enjoyed the Lord of the Ring films! I can honestly say that I have watched them all in a matter of days, you become hooked! The characters are funny and likeable and there are many famous actors in all the films. Daniel Ratcliffe is outstanding as Harry Potter, you feel real empathy for him at times and you are gripped to the screen watching his character develop throughout the films. The visual effects make it scary for children at some points but they can also enjoy the great music score by John Williams and an action packed colourful movie. Each film is directed by someone different and most of the stories are easy to follow. I did have a few favourites only because some of the stories did not seem to lead anywhere they were served merely as an introduction. I have not read the books but after watching the films I cant wait to get stuck in. I hope to see the new film 'The Half-Blood Prince' very soon.

More info would be great-there isn't much here for 5 films!
Advantages: Offers freedom to watch all films so you can keep a continual track of the story. Disadvantages: Although enjoyable, the later films are more compelling to view than those before.
Advantages: Good chemistry between actors, nice cinematography, well cast Disadvantages: Child acting poor at times, directing unsatisfactory for first two films
