If you stop and think for a moment why so many people want to review this DVD, the answer becomes apparent very quickly! It is for no reason simpler than the fact that it is a phenomenal movie, a legend of its time!
JK Rowling first wrote the harry potter book, the philosophers stone, many years before it was turned into a film. But it was such a huge success that eventually one did come about in 2001. The Harry Potter craze hit the nation, but what was it about?
Harry Potter was a young boy who thought he had a normal life living with his aunt and uncle and cousin, who taught him horridly. Though one day on his birthday a large giant-like man stormed in and took him away. This was no monster though - he was called Hagrid and he was off to take Harry to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! If this film, we see harry through his journey through his first year at school, alongside his two best friends Ron and Hermoine, and all the dangers they get themselves into. But can the three survive this harsh world of bullies and dark arts?
The first time I watched Harry Potter I was addicted and have been ever since! The amazing theme tune plays and my spine begins to tingle! Ther is something truly magical about it, and I do believe this is partly down to the cast! Daniel Radcliffe plays Harry himself and I do personally believe that nobody better could have been cast for the role! He looks the part and sounds it too! Ron Weasley is played by Rupert Grint, an amazing actor and looks the part too! And as for Emma Watson, she is lucky enough to play Hermoine, a role I would kill for!
The film is directed by Chris Colombos, who has clearly done well! The whole film slots together nicely, each movement so precise and accurate! It makes the whole experience of watching marvellous, comared to watching something that is far too jutty!
The film lasts 150 minutes and has a certificate of PG. I feel this is suitable as there is nothing too bad in it! It is definitely worth a watch if you get a chance, especially if you like magic and the 'impossible'!
So how much did I pay for this? I got mine for £10 many years agi, but you can find it for aound £5 now, or in box sets with the other films in the collection for a little more! It is well worth the money!
